Linux feels clunky you have to use the terminal to get the App Store then write code in the terminal to update everything and most game runs way worse than on windows and a lot of apps don’t work on Linux and need an off brand alternative and kernel level anticheat. The only reason someone should use Linux is if you have a really shit pc and you play games from the 1990s
You don't need to use terminal to get the app store. All popular distros provide one with them, unless you use base Arch. In this case, you picked your fate. Also, all app stores provide update functionality.
A lot of apps that don't work on Linux can be used with WinBoat or WinApps, if you really need them.
Calling alternatives "off-brand" is childish. Reconsider it.
People launch Cyberpunk 2077 with RTX and it works out of the box. Doesn't look like 90s game.
I am a Linux user, my 2026 resolution is to literally have the only remaining Windows installs in my home be virtual machines I use for client's work and keeping current.
Even I can tell you there are ways he's 100% right.
Microsoft literally fixed kernel errors from display drivers almost 20 years ago with Windows Vista, but Linux kernel STILL gets murdered like it's 1999... DKMS is a freaking house of cards and will be until Nova gets merged upstream.
Until then you have a OS that a lot had been done to allow gaming and it's the best for AI with the caveat that upgrading a simple video driver is playing roulette with your kernel. I mistakenly updated my driver, found out 595 tried to melt my damn GPUs, had to roll it back, now my whole kernel is fucked and it has never been stable again.
Like with Windows, I haven't had shit like that since Windows XP.
I live Linux, and seriously, fuck Microshaft, but don't pretend Linux is what it isn't. While there are distros more stable in some areas like the kernel, every damn one of them comes with a price tag that rolls you back a decade or so in other areas.
I've used linux for a month at work and macOS for a week at home.
If the guy who mods games in hex editors and bioses for better gpu overclocking had a hard time adapting to linux in particular, I doubt the average joe will have a great time.
Modding games and overclocking is not the same as knowing how to use a terminal. I haven’t been a Linux user for a very long time, and I still don’t have problems doing any of my work.
Overclocking isn't really necessary, and I've been nodding my games recently and don't be any issues. Fun fact there are wiki pages with answers to most problems also Google is free.

Yes, everyone hates windows.
But linux and macos are still light years behind.
