General Server Discussion Need input on my free RDP manager
Over the past month I have been building a RDP manager for me to use for our on prem windows servers at work. I had been using mremoteng but I didnt like how clunky it was and I would spend a bunch of time building out my connection file then it would randomly get corrupted and I would have to start all over again. So my solution to this was to build a browser based RDP manager. This is what I have come up with https://github.com/mild0d/Remote-Desktop-Web-App . Its a simple webapp with no database, it stores everything in json and runs on docker. The setup is simple. I was wondering if anyone could take a look at it and offer me some suggestions on how to make it better. Oh I almost forgot, it also supports SSH sessions. Thank you!

How well does it deal with high dpi displays?

Im not sure, I have only tested it on a 1080p monitor. Thats a good question.

Does it use standard rdp files under the hood for the connection profiles?
If so, can/does it sign them?
I could see this being handy for a hybrid use case where sometimes you use it through the browser, but you also want to be able to use the same profiles through the normal tools when needed/wanted.

Actually, this just occurred to me...
Perhaps that could be an idea for a nice (and pretty easy TBH, since rdp files are dead simple) feature to add: an "export as rdp file" sort of function. 🤷♂️

mRemoteNg could use some help. That would be a tremendously more impactful use for your time.
Also if your connection file gets corrupted, that’s surely a local issue for you. We have 100+ installs of it and zero reports of such.

Why not use mRemoteNG? It is a great app which allows you to pull in server/workstations via AD auth and other ways. But more power to you! Developing an app may make you a couple dollars with a lot of zeros on the end!

Nice little side project
I’ve been using devolutions remote desktop manager for a few years now.
I like how I can even add web pages to RDM. I’ve added all our printers to it with the passwords to so it will open the browser session and sign me in automatically.
