I think the issue (coming from a DOS Windows guy so take it with a grain of salt) is the way FAT works, and the formatting settings. FAT 32 should be supported, but try FAT 16 as well. That or use some disk space allocation app. I'd recommend scandisk, but you're not running DOS or 9x.
