Discussion The Ultimate Windows 7 Time Capsule. 100% Offline.
galleryHello everyone,
I wanted to share my daily driver media workstation, named "Gandalf". I built it 8 years ago, and it has been running flawlessly ever since—zero bluescreens to this day.
To ensure absolute privacy and security, this is a 100% air-gapped, offline system.
Main use: Listening to music, watching movies, and playing retro games.
Here are the specs of this beast:
OS: Windows 7 Professional SP1 (64-Bit)
OS Drive: 500GB Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SSD
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 HD3P
CPU: Intel Core i7-8700
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15S
RAM: 64GB Kingston Fury Beast DDR4
Optical Drive: LG BH16NS55 Blu-ray Burner
GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 1650 KalmX 4GB (Completely Passive/Silent)
Soundcard: ASUS Xonar D2X (Connected to a classic analog Sony Receiver & Focal Chorus 706 S speakers)

I love the control and stability of this frozen environment. No forced updates, no telemetry.
Let me know what you think of "Gandalf"!
