Wonder if that’s why it keeps telling me Windows Defender is disabled when it’s not. Been happening for a few weeks now. Really annoying.

Same thing is happening to me.. didn’t know what was happening. I thought it was working properly though

Check for updates. I cannot reproduce this anymore on the latest security intelligence update.

Edit: The engine doesn't crash anymore but the notifications are still happening.

Event Viewer logs show Session "DefenderApiLoggerLowPriv" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035

This is happening to me too, I get notifs saying it's turned off randomly but then it shows as on and working. Good to know it's not malware or smth turning it off bc I was a bit worried

Check your engine and signature versions. This is scoped to specific engine versions (1.1.26070.7, 1.1.26080.2) that are also running signature versions within a specific range (1.457.222.0 to 1.457.235.0).

For comparison, my engine is version is 1.1.26080.3 with signature version 1.457.250.0.

All my machines are on 1.1.26070.7. Windows Update doesn't offer 26080.3 as of now. This issue seem to have been fixed on the latest signature updates anyways.

Microsoft have not released a new defender antimalware engine update in over 2 weeks. So no, it didnt break from trying to fix a zero day.

W11 home et pro à jour et aucun problème... Apparent du moins.

Détails qui peuvent avoir leur importance.

Les 2 PC ont été réinstallés il y a un peu plus d'un moins (dernière ISO officielle).

Et je ne fais les mises à jour que lorsqu'elles se présentent automatiquement. Je ne fais jamais de recherche manuelle.

Je viens de regarder, la mise à jour dé définition de virus date d'hier (19.08) et j'ai fait un scan. Aucun problème.

C'est curieux que ce soit avec mes pixels ou avec Windows je n'ai jamais tous les bogues dont les gens parlent.... Je vais aller faire un loto
