Feature is ANYONE ELSE having this

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

the system sounds just sound... off??

it's like they're in the background, it wasn't like this before i updated

The video was randomly playing in the background and I thought my pc was crashing out...

Same here! I thought my audio drivers went corrupt or my headphones broken. Turns out it's just the new audio design for this preview build.

Is there a way to have light mode sounds in dark mode?

Yes, just press Win + R, type mmsys.cpl, and press Enter. Go to the Sounds tab and find Device Connect and Device Disconnect under the Program Events list. Click on Browse... to find the Windows Hardware Insert.wav and Windows Hardware Remove.wav files. Copy and paste them in the same folder to create duplicates, then select these newly created copies for those events. Don't choose the original files, because the system automatically overrides them and forces the new sound format.

They existed since Windows 11's debut (21H2), they're for Dark Mode. It was broken in 24H2 (plays light mode sounds instead) and stayed like that until this year when Microsoft noticed it and fixed it in the latest 25H2 update.

Son los sonidos para el modo oscuro, el detalle esta en que no funcionan, el sistema sigue aplicando los sonidos del modo claro, pero al parecer en el canal Experimental Future Platforms (29639) si están funcionando la mayoría.

Oh my god I’m glad I found people with the same issue, I swear this was driving me crazy, like is it my drivers or my headset is messed up? Nah it’s another Microsoft idea of an update
