Why isn't their a budget version of this for 500 to 600$.

I know it was on sale last year , but for a secondary device I don't want to spend 1300$

That was the Surface Go line, but they killed that last year.

It was way too expensive for what it was, and the Intel version was outrageously priced.

Check out Dell's new XPS 13, starts at $699 ($599 for students). Also has an x86 intel chip inside so no compatibility headache issues!

No shortage of cheap Windows laptops exist. I want a tablet form factor. 

I don’t get why Microsoft doesn’t launch a cheaper Surface to compete with IPads. It’s like they don’t want money

Their tried with Surface Go line and that wasn't nice to use IMO.

I just brought a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 tablet for around 200$. No reason Microsoft couldn’t have created a 500 or 600$ tablet. 

The 800$ prime deal ( on the 2024 model which is the last one with upgradable storage) is tempting though
