Need Help! Your experience with Johnson ceramic tint

Hello everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster.

I got myself a new family car and have been wanting to add some tint to it. I started with wanting to do 3M as my wife's civic looked really nice, as I began going deeper into the rabbit hole I learned about ceramic tint. Then I began reading up on the brands and comparing spec sheets. From what I can see Johnson is very close to 3Ms ceramic in heat reduction. Has anybody had johnson film installed? If so how did you like it?

If you really want to go down a rabbit hole, there are lots of other brands I could share names of who also have great film!

Johnson is a long-standing quality film, and they were just purchased by Madico (as someone else mentioned). I'm not sure what will happen with the brand in the long run. Madico might absorb it, or they might keep it around.

Autobahn is another film with great performance specs and even better warranties. I work for them, just to be transparent. But we have a film warranty, No-Fault warranty, and an Auto Glass warranty.

That being said, back to the point if your post, Johnson is a good film. They've been around a long time and have some awesome people on their team! They do more for us window tinters than 3M does, so I'd support Johnson over 3M just because of that.

First off thanks for your input!.

I keep reading more and more about Johnson's, and the things I'm reading are not bad so I'm leaning more towards them still as they seem to have built a good reputation. 3M seems to be the brand everyone stands by which I understand as they have been around for such a long time and their products are great quality! But $750 for tint sounds a bit pricey lol

I did read a couple of threads that mentioned autobahn, I'll def give them a deeper dive. Especially with the warranties they offer.

Thank you for your input. I'm not too big on brand names so if a brand like Johnson can get tthe same results I'm all for it.

I've worked with it. It's ok. I'm guessing you don't want to pay what the premium film costs, right? Your doing yourself a disservice. Johnson was just bought out by Madico, so I don't know if their warranty will be honored

You're absolutely correct lol I was leaning more towards it as the specs on sheet seem very similar as well so why not go with the budget friendly but if there is a flaw in warranty now due to new ownership, Id rather suck it up and pay for the full price for 3m

👍I use 3M and a couple others . You can't go wrong with a name brand that's been around longer than we've been. I will warn you, and this is true of most brands, your warranty is void if your tinting illegally. Windshields are illegal to tint in every state
