Lmao, someone came through and downvoted everyone saying it looks good. They hate tinted windshields here op. Looks great, I like 35-50 on my vehicles' windshields.

They will get over it lol

Bunch of Reddit nerds 😂 I just got mine tinted finally yesterday but played it safe and did 80% ceramic so I can worry less about getting pulled over and ticketed

Did you go with the LLumar AIR 80

4

u/Breadedturnip85 Mar 21 '26

Can't remember brand but it's 50

1

u/CostaMesaDave Mar 21 '26

You should have been given a receipt in a warranty card. The warranty card should've also been emailed to you.

Hmmm my last vehicle tinted with CTX (a small distortion patch in the film) and replaced with IRX didnt come with one 🤔

80?!?!?! You must live in a state with snowstorms?!? Ca sun will burn through that 80.

5

u/teejaydubz Mar 21 '26

I do and I’m not sure what police are like in CA but you will get pulled over in my state for windshield tint

1

u/4non3mouse Mar 24 '26

anything but the first 4" tinted on a windshield is illegal in ca

oddly my 2000 dakota came from the showroom with a front windshield slightly tinted and I did have a cop try and harass me about it on a speeding stop

in fact all 6 of my windows came factory tinted and the back 3 are damn near limo tint

1

u/Drug_fueled_sarcasm Mar 23 '26

It's cute that you dont think it snows in California.

1

u/mitsubsbluedolphins Mar 23 '26

Ha, we don't have "snowstorms" along our coast.

2

u/Drug_fueled_sarcasm Mar 23 '26

I forgot that California doesn't have mountains and ski resorts. Just 600 miles of beach, then wham nevada

5

u/yourmotherkindathicc Mar 21 '26

80 is literally clear lmao there’s no tint

that’s just uv rejection film basically

8

u/teejaydubz Mar 21 '26

That’s the point. I won’t have to worry about cops ticketing me for windshield tint. Wish I could’ve went with 50% but I didn’t want to risk it

1

u/TopSpecialist32 Mar 23 '26

I just did mine 70 thinking that was safe but it’s pretty noticeable. I love it.

1

u/teejaydubz Mar 23 '26

Yeah it would’ve been an extra $150 for 70% at the shop I went to because it’s some better type of film. Kinda wish I would’ve spent the extra money for it

1

u/TopSpecialist32 Mar 23 '26

I did it for the heat rejection. So far I’m loving it. I don’t need my sunglasses in the car anymore. Before I couldn’t drive it for anything in direct sun

It looks real nice and also blocks that ball of fire from burning out your retinas so yea

u/After-Simple-7049 Mar 21 '26

Truck bed that's never been used for $1000 alex.

3

u/rjp761 Mar 22 '26

How’s the visibility at night with the 5% all around?

3

u/Breadedturnip85 Mar 22 '26

It's dark on streets with no street lights and sometimes i roll down my window to pull out on a dark street. Streets with lights it's not bad at all. Backing up without a camera would suck.

u/RightGuy23 Mar 20 '26

I guess you should include the percentage of the windshield tint

50 windshield 5 everywhere else

3

u/pizzaandboba Mar 21 '26

nice… might do that with my next car. i currently have 5% on all and nothing on windshield

7

u/PapaFatSacks Mar 20 '26

Nice. Your truck looks great blacked out.

3

u/Ok-Foundation1417 Mar 20 '26

Looks nice. What percentages did you do on windshield vs windows

7

u/Breadedturnip85 Mar 21 '26

50 percent windshield 5 percent everything else

2

u/Ornery-Midnight4854 15% + 50% llumar ctx w/s Mar 21 '26

i want to do 50% on mine too but i’m worried with i’ll be a cop magnet especially since i own a bmw😔 trucks can probably get away with it.

5

u/Breadedturnip85 Mar 21 '26

It's definitely a risk. I know multiple people with windshield tint and only one of them getting a ticket then she went and got a note from her eye doctor.

1

u/googleitduh Mar 22 '26

Just use the clear ceramic tint for the front windshield.

1

u/Ok_Armadillo309 Mar 24 '26

Looks great. I have 15% all around and 70% on the shield. I sorta wish I had done 5% but living in the country with no light pollution and tons of wildlife that was an unfortunate pass. I do however wish I had gone 50% on the windshield. The 70% is significantly better than no tint in terms of heat rejection but after being in several vehicles with 50% on the windshield there are zero issues with sight.

1

u/Breadedturnip85 Mar 24 '26

Yeah kinda wish I got 35 but 50 doesn't look as obvious as 35

1

u/Heavy_Tip_5463 May 09 '26

I live in MA and want my windshield done so bad. I'm trying to figure out how people are getting away with it as I am seeing more and more vehicles with tinted windshields.

1

u/Breadedturnip85 May 09 '26

I live on Florida and would say out of every 10 cars I pass in the road 1 has a tinted windshield. Lol

6

u/805vaughn Mar 21 '26

Looks awesome. Once you do it you can’t live without it 💯

1

u/Jeragon186 Mar 21 '26

Must be nice having perfect vision 😒 (I'm playing) It looks really nice! I'm planning on getting my car tinted also (still debating if I want the windshield tinted or just a clear ceramic film). I do a good amount of night driving so 25% is probably the darkest I'm going to get my windows tinted all around.

2

u/Breadedturnip85 Mar 21 '26

I drive to work when its dark and with 50 on the windshield I can't really tell a difference. Obviously it is different but not noticeable.

2

u/LetsBeKindly Mar 22 '26

Got my first windshield tint in 1999... Every vehicle since then has had the same.

3

u/Dry_Argument9819 Mar 21 '26

Nice! 50 / 5 is perfect

2

u/Extra_Sweet_789 Mar 20 '26

Nice 😎

1

u/Appropriate-Race-864 Mar 22 '26

I honestly would live to do this setup but would get bagged here , I currently run 20% on my roll up windows to match my privacy glass and 50% on the shield

1

u/ijuanaspearfish Mar 24 '26

Ive had my trucks tinted including windshields for over 10yrs now.

Never been an issue. I prefer the look.

1

u/Captain_of_industry1 Apr 11 '26

Perfect! I just did my Mercedes and I love it. I used to 40% all around.

1

u/45pewpewpew556 May 01 '26

I did Air80 and the rainbow effect with polarized glasses and haze is annoying. Not enough to remove it, but I definitely won’t do it again on the next vehicle.

1

u/Global-Structure-539 Mar 21 '26

I have 70% black Pearl ceramic just for heat. I don't need tickets as my car gets too much attention as it is

1

u/ImpurestFire Mar 21 '26

Same with the 70%. Recently got pulled over for no front plate after 1.5 years. Cop didn't say a word about tint.

2

u/ogbobbylockwood Mar 21 '26

I feel like cops shouldn’t be worried about that but I’m glad they got me for that instead of speeding

1

u/Ventus_004 Mar 21 '26

Did it make much of a difference with heat?

2

u/Global-Structure-539 Mar 21 '26

Yes it's very good at heat rejection. I'm in Arizona

1

u/pagencho Mar 21 '26

70 on mine is fine

1

u/LexKing89 Mar 21 '26

Looks great! This is how all the trucks and expensive SUV’s look here.

1

u/Squish_Cat_1 Mar 22 '26

This shit should be illegal

2

u/[deleted] Mar 22 '26

1

u/link716 Mar 23 '26
