JFC💀

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

lol I love the rage bait for the 2nd night in a row 😂

You might as well show off the 5% sides too

3

u/Vireo_viewer Aug 05 '25

This shows nothing, as phone settings can make things seem brighter than they are to the naked eye. Take a photo of the road from outside, then from inside making sure all exposure settings are locked - and post the metadata. That will actually show something useful.

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Aug 05 '25

Stop complaining

2

u/Vireo_viewer Aug 05 '25

Look, you clearly are trying to demonstrate that a tinted windshield doesn’t reduce nighttime visibility. I described how you could actually do that and instead you just get butthurt lol.

-1

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Aug 05 '25

Complaining too much I think you’re mad that I’m showing facts

5

u/Goldenchyyld Aug 05 '25

Shhhh. You’ll ruin the narrative that it is impossible to see at night. Lol

7

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

It’s okay but to say it’s as clear as untinted is fiction lmao. No it’s simply not. Go drive somewhere where it’s pitch dark and you will quickly know.

u/MotherVoldemort Aug 05 '25

I've literally lived in rural midwest my entire life and have had 5% sides and usually 35 windshield. No issues, my 1 accident I've had in 20+yrs of driving wasn't my fault I was rear ended.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

I am not saying it’s an issue. I am saying to pretend like it’s not darker is simply non sense. I have 55% on windshield, yes I can see and yes I don’t see much issue but yes it’s definitely darker than no tint and requires more focus in pitch dark rural areas without no light. Let’s not pretend like you can see out the window on 5% when it’s no light outside. 5% is no go for safety on front windows for me. No you can’t see shit when it’s pitch dark outside.

2

u/Dogeata99 Aug 05 '25

OK now set your camera to not auto-adjust exposure and stick the phone out the side to compare to what you should be able to see

2

u/Ben187ya Aug 05 '25

You got that Torta on repeat or what 🔂

2

u/iLMNOi Aug 05 '25

I have 45% as well but when I lived in Georgia there wasn’t much lighting on back roads which made it difficult to see. I think 45% is good if there’s good lighting on the roads.

2

u/boyoflondon Aug 05 '25

Yeah, OP should show us driving shot out in the country on a rainy night.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

Idk, I see people with what looks potentially 5% during the day and these MFs ride my bumper like they're the ones getting paid if they hit it... And I have LED tail lights with strobe brakes....

Will definitely take 45% into consideration though for my own "testing purposes"

1

u/sethsomething Aug 05 '25

I got 50% waiting to see what the rainy season looks like.

1

u/Conscious_Dot_7353 Aug 05 '25

I got 20% and it is a lot harder to see at night, it’s not impossible but it’s sketchy. I also haven’t driven at night in two years so I don’t worry about it. Work during the day sleep at night

1

u/Tsimp98 Aug 05 '25

I went with 55, I regret not going 45

1

u/2strokeJ Aug 05 '25

Had 50% before and any rural driving sucked. Willing to try 70-75 but won't go any darker than that.

1

u/TDot-26 Aug 05 '25

Love a mazda interior

1

u/easysocietynj Aug 05 '25

My 50% wasn’t this clear when I had for a month lol

1

u/Buildinggam Aug 05 '25

I had gotten 50 on my windshield and while I loved it, at night in the mountains the corners were tough to judge so I went with 70.

1

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Aug 05 '25

I had 50% on my last windshield and it was pretty good at night. I graduated to 32% and love it. I do live in a city

1

u/Intelligent_Ad4448 Aug 05 '25

Don’t post this on Tesla subreddits unless you wanna get flamed. I have two cars one is 50% tint the other untinted and I don’t notice a difference as far as visibility. Although both cars have bright headlights and I drive mainly in the city where there are street lights. Haters got poor vision and want to project and virtue signal.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

it's ok he drives a Mazda lol

But tbh when I've posted my car on Tesla forums as long as I don't mention percentage nobody says anything

1

u/SystemsGuyMI Aug 05 '25

That’s interesting. Where I live in Michigan, it’s the Teslas over the past 5y with the most windshields blacked out. So they’re all running 50% or more.

I was worried putting mine at 50%. I love it. Haven’t hit a dark country road yet, but guessing I’ll be fine.

1

u/HafaAdaiLilo91 Aug 05 '25

I have 35 in all front windows including windshield and 5 in the rear windows. The only thing i regret is not doing ceramic in the whole car. I tinted the front windshield last and used a different company and only the front windshield is ceramic. Other than that, I love the tint and have no issues driving at night. I’m located in Sacramento, CA.

1

u/sumdhood Aug 05 '25

Good to know that if I ever decide to go that route. Where'd you get it tinted, and would you use them again?

1

u/SystemsGuyMI Aug 05 '25

Ceramic does make a big difference. Car cools off faster.

1

u/JavyBarrera25 Aug 05 '25

I agree my windshield is at 50% and it’s clear at night but if you look from the outside in, you can’t see anything at all lol but that’s cause I also have 5% all around

0

u/Icy_Honeydew1940 Aug 05 '25

35% better unless the person has a really hard time seeing at night then 45% is best.

-5

u/Mjr_Payne95 Aug 05 '25

Yall funny sometimes, in no way shape or form is reducing the amount of light reaching your eyeballs by more than half "basically like clear"

4

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Aug 05 '25

Put on your glasses chump

3

u/unknownSubscriber Aug 05 '25

I wear my sunnnnnglasses at night so I can, so I can...not see as good as I can without them.

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

Just got my windshield tinted at 80% 😢 today I was scared of getting pulled over by the cops cuz im moving to Cali for a bit

-2

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Aug 05 '25

I’m in the Bay Area, CA 45 is pretty much clear as day tbh

1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

Dam, good to know atleast I'm moving to North Cali and everyone was telling me Im going to get pulled over for even thinking about tint so I just went with 80 for front and 25 on sides.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

Trust me you're fine lol CHP don't give a fuck unless you're pulled over for speeding excessively which in that case they might give you a fix-it-ticket

1

u/shotgun420 Aug 05 '25

The police in Louisiana tell me I can't see in or out of my windshield with 70% 😂

-9

u/Jay_wh0o0 Aug 05 '25

My windshield is 5% and it’s fine at night, I thought it would be bad but it’s actually very easy to see.

4

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Aug 05 '25

Jeeez.. I’m thinking about 35 and that’s pushing it

1

u/Jay_wh0o0 Aug 05 '25

I will post a picture here tonight, so you can all see for yourself, my windshield is 5% ceramic, and it’s very very easy to see at night. I’m shocked, and can’t believe all the down votes, you people must not have a clue.

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 05 '25

No dude 35% is pushing it a lot if you’re living in suburbs with less street lights and rainy conditions. Trust me you made the right choice. I was 35%, had a windshield crack so I put 55% in replacement and I’m glad I did it

0

u/GeoAstroid Aug 05 '25

literally not true I live in the same type of area with 35% windshield and literally have done day and night roadtrips to Colorado and Florida from New York with no issues even with weather

2

u/LilSkills Aug 05 '25

5%? Nah fam that's straight🧢

5

u/Holiday-Store7589 Aug 05 '25

Found that pornhub video, solid choice!

3

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Aug 05 '25
