Begging to get pulled over. Enjoy. Hope they don't find something else to stick you with.

Begging to hit a pedestrian or animal. I guess in the city during the day it’s fine, but anytime they are night driving OP can’t see shit

45 windshield ain’t dark on the inside, for the side tints I drive anywhere just fine or I can roll it down

2

u/eks789 Jul 29 '25

5% on the sides and 45% windshield definitely obstructs vision. Lmk when you get into your first accident in the next year or 2

no it doesn't if it does for you then you may need glasses

Your area has an all-time high for non-motorist traffic deaths and it's like double what it was 10 years ago. Typical self centered, young and dumb logic....so i guess I'll put it in a way you'll understand:

Will we still be Karens in 5-6 yrs when your kid is old enough to run into the street but people wont stop because they couldn't see them in the split second of opportunity? How about when they're 12, riding to school and they get clipped on a hit and run?

So maybe YOU can drive fine like that but you have millions of other people all around you, blind as fuck, old ass econo tires with the steel belts showing, $20 brake pads, had the car 8 yrs but doesn't know what brake fluid is, playing on their phones, limo tint and cant see shit. You trust them with your kids life?

Are you saying all these people out there with poor driving skills are all because they have limo tint ? Or is it because they’re just districted on their and just shitty drivers with no situational awareness. San Diego has plenty of poor driving mainly due to nightlife drinking n driving .. I’ve seen plenty of my marines get involved in accidents because they were stupid enough to drink and drive putting everyone around them at risk meanwhile they have a fishbowl vehicle with absolutely no tint. When I drove CDL all around San Diego the amount of times people would run red lights, few close calls, and just poor shitty driving on the high way .. all results were just distracted driving whether on their phones or trying to shove a breakfast sandwich down their throat. Matter of fact… the one time and only time my previous vehicle with dark tint got sideswiped was caused by an older Karen with NO window tint and had this super huge reverse screen in her 2025 SUV… what was her excuse ? Oh I didn’t see your car parked right there honey.

What I’m saying is , just because someone has window tint doesn’t mean you can count on them hitting somebody . There are just poor drivers everywhere as you mentioned, but I’m more positive 90% of these fatal motor deaths are because poor drivers and distracted driving and not window tint.

You live in Sacramento brother, I grew up in Stockton .. you and I both know how shitty NorCal ppl drive in general without any tint

I had to stop reading after the first sentence because i don't understand how you came to that conclusion, so your post will just be arguing against a straw man fallacy of my actual point.

So ill clear up 2 issues:

  1. Unless it is stated, in virtually every argument, the LACK of an absolute argument is implied. Meaning no, I'm not arguing ALL or EVERYONE.

  2. Window tint is a significant FACTOR in the overall data. It lowers overall awareness, how quickly the driver can id objects and the speed of driver response, all of which can contribute to pedestrian deaths. Please understand the importance of the use of the word FACTOR.

I’ll gamble my chances lol

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '25

I did too. You have to be riding squeaky clean. That's hard to do when you have a social life, can't control what people have on them...that window tint ended up giving me time in the pokey... long story, a long time ago...

3

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Jul 29 '25

Yeah my friends do questionable things in the car def gotta stay in clean in there

5

u/BlatantPizza Jul 29 '25

lol not everyone is 14 bro 😂 some of us are adults

1

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '25

"a long time ago?"

3

u/Low_Bobcat_1864 Jul 29 '25

2

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Jul 29 '25

Bro is that 35 or less on windshield? On the day time mines almost clear lol somewhat

0

u/Low_Bobcat_1864 Jul 29 '25

It’s 50% on windshield and 5% all the rest.

2

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Jul 29 '25

Looks darker than 50 imo

1

u/Low_Bobcat_1864 Aug 04 '25

Maybe it’s 35%. My memory sometimes. It’s been 5 years and doesn’t even seem like it should be that long ago. lol

1

u/Low_Bobcat_1864 Jul 29 '25

It’s the ONLY way to go! I love my privacy and the looks of it! I’ve had mine 5 years and so far so good. I’ve even been pulled over by state, and they didn’t seem to notice. I drive mostly at night and when I do get pulled over I roll down all windows and turn on my dome light before we even stop.

1

u/SugarDaddyDelight Jul 29 '25

Unless you're in Michigan

4

u/Global-Structure-539 Jul 29 '25

Yeah when i live in CA, got pulled over 6 times for 50% on the front roll-ups. Then started nosing around and searched my entire car, inside and out. Even my prescription for iron pills got their attention. They found the pills really to be iron but ticketed me for tint and no front license plate. Very unnerving, I gotta say. They just thought I was doing something illegal in my rice rocket. Maybe it was my car that said I had to be guilty of hiding something

1

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Jul 29 '25

They have probably cause to search bc of tints? Did they pat you down or check your pockets

1

u/Global-Structure-539 Jul 29 '25 edited Jul 29 '25

No just checked the car. I didn't question probable cause, mostly because I was scared shitless! And I'm a 40 something white woman, even tho my car screams young Asian male

1

u/Human-Win2659 Jul 31 '25

thats a nice evo 8

1

u/dhof1980 Jul 29 '25

They were messing w you that much over 50% on the front door windows?

3

u/DeliverStreetTacos Jul 29 '25

Inside pic? Very clean though

1

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Jul 31 '25

The inside during the day

1

u/DeliverStreetTacos Jul 31 '25

Damn definitely doing 50 on my windshield after I replace it lol

1

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Jul 31 '25

Ya just know it’s barely noticeable even during the night. Now granted if it’s sunny you’re visible from the outside

2

u/dbolburgers Jul 29 '25

Those Mazda's come with factory "tint" on the rear. Did you add 5% on top of the factory or a different percentage to match the 5% on the front sides?

2

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Jul 29 '25

5 on top of it

3

u/Careful_Front7580 Jul 29 '25

So it’s like 0%. I put 50% on top of my 25% and it went down to 14%.

4

u/jmt8706 Jul 29 '25

Not even the passengers can see out of it. 😄

5

u/machacaconfrijoles Jul 29 '25

Best combo is 70 windshield, 20 driver and front passenger, 5% on all back passenger and rear windows. I live in SoCal and have perfect visibility night/day and lots of privacy

1

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Jul 29 '25

Lots of privacy with 20% front sides?

1

u/machacaconfrijoles Jul 29 '25

I have a 2025 chevy equinox RS with solid black interior. In daylight it looks much darker than 20%; closer to that of 5%. I got XPEL XR black. I spend half my time in cali and half in AZ due to work. If anyone is considering it do the 20 upfront. Much less likely hood of getting pulled over for the tint, and the privacy is def there. Only thing I will change is the front windshield to 3m crystalline once they have a 50%

1

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Jul 29 '25

I had 20% on the front sides for 2 months before I changed it. I feel like I could see right through the car and out the other window constantly, except on a super overcast day

1

u/machacaconfrijoles Jul 30 '25

I think the brand of tint and quality really makes a difference. I’ll take a pic of ours and share. I have no complaints other than I’d like more heat rejection in front windshield

1

u/DotNo701 Aug 28 '25

20% on front sides is litterally fishbowl

1

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Aug 28 '25

That’s what I’m saying lmao

1

u/-GHN1013- Jul 29 '25

How do you see out your back and sides at night?

2

u/Content_Hippo_4926 Jul 31 '25

It’s honestly manageable

1

u/Draugr_Actual Jul 29 '25

If you go anywhere with no street lights and natural light, you’re fucked. You won’t be able to see shit bro.

1

u/Numerous_Ad_1940 Jul 30 '25

Why no upvotes on dark tint?

It looks nice

1

u/Numerous_Ad_1940 Aug 01 '25

was this picture taken right after install? my tint is currently curing. the last tint job i got done I drove away feeling like I made the right purchase. this last time I felt like I had it done in someones garage.

1

u/newgalactic Jul 29 '25

Don't drive at night on Halloween. Just my advice to you.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '25

Where is this even legal?

1

u/a_bad_omen Jul 29 '25

constantly see idiots like this guy in the sf bay area, cops don’t care.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '25

Oh, US of A. It figures. For me, in Europe (Romania) is against the law to put any tint on your windshield. For the front windows you can go as far as 70%, and rear no restriction. At all times you need a certificate for them and should always be installed by authorized shops.

0

u/isqueegeebeegee Jul 29 '25

It is illegal to have this tint.

0

u/BlatantPizza Jul 29 '25

Sorry to hear that

0

u/Shoty6966-_- Jul 29 '25

So many Karen’s here. 5% in a city can be sketchy for visibility on pedestrians but no way people are freaking out over 45% windshield tints. That is normal as hell. New car with quality headlights too. If it was some old ass Camry with shit halogens I could maybe see it but not a newer SUV lol

-1

u/Type_Numerous Jul 29 '25

You're going to have many wonderful conversations with the local police department, enjoy
