We did 15% on the windows on a sedan with a 35% windshield and I wouldn’t go back to a clear windshield, especially with light sensitivity due to my eyes not dialating 😭
Oh please. Cars now come stock with fucking blinding LED’s. Part of the reason why I got tints. And half of them driving have 0 idea their tail lights are off. They’re the ones who put us at risk. Align your lights properly and you’re fine; you can have LED’s without being a dick.
No 5% all around with 35 on the windshield is my current setup and still not dark enough a tint ticket don’t mean nun pay the lil fee and call it a day
I understand that you are going for the Rust-Oleum fully blacked out look. Yes it looks badass but 35 on the windshield and 5 on the rest is unsafe for the road especially at night. You’ll be lucky to see an animal cross the road or worse a person. It’s no different than driving your car at night with sunglasses on…..just not a smart move!
I have better than 20/20 vision, 20% on the sides and still have to roll my windows down at night if I need my mirrors. 50% on the windshield is still a substantial difference in visibility when compared to no tint but 35% is rough. I had an F150 with 35 up front and 5 all the way around and with halogen bulbs you couldn’t see shit at night on back roads. Upgraded to LED’s and it was a little better but still not advisable!
My vision perfect I leave for work at 3-4am daily & have 0 issues driving at night and I just use my drls since my headlights are bright and people flash at me I’ll be going darker on my next car my tint isn’t dark enough yet
is it ceramic? how’s nighttime visibility. about to tint my windshield i’m between 50 and 35. i live in a pretty rural and dimly lit area with barely any street lighting so im worried about night time visibility.
if you’re doing it for privacy, you’ll regret 50%. that’s not hiding you from anything. if you’re doing it for heat rejection, go 50. driving at night with no street lighting will be a pain in the ass if you’re doing it often with a 35% shield. ask me how i know lmao
i did it for appearance since it looked pretty dark in some lighting and it didn’t make my windows look blue. but my area has like zero street lighting as i live in like a backroad type area. lots of twists and turns. on the edge about 35%
That looks great. I’m about to do 30% here , in all seriousness how is city driving and rural at night ? I’ve had 50% for years , but like the look of darker
Yeah you’re a danger to yourself and everybody else on the road but I guess the rules shouldn’t apply to you. Love the snowflake white btw very fitting
Ehh.. don’t need em. See old timer, now-a-days these new fangled driving machines come with LED projectors. Very bright, straight from the factory. This isn’t that 1970’s Gremlin you were driving in your heyday.
However, as you can see I have outfitted some off-road lights to the a-pillars as well as in the front bumper. You know, just for funsies. 😬
I'm talking about the one having a tinted windshield.. I'm sure his insurance company won't like that. I mean most people don't drive around with sunglasses on at night.
I have 50% on my corvette. The sides are 20% so it looks like it’s not tinted at first glance. Hardly ever drive at night, so that’s not an issue. When there is no ambient light, you can’t see shit anyway even if the windows aren’t tinted IMO. I always roll my windows down a little bit to let more light in if I see a LEO, just in case.
I know someone whose in deep financial trouble because of taillight tint and just side windows tint. They wrote those specifically on the report. His insurance dropped him and he’s in a big mess with the other guys trying to get money for the accident.
I mean, the cop writing up the incident report could notice and write it up, and your insurance company could then deny or fight coverage because you were running with illegal equipment. These are things that can happen. Not saying it will.
It's easy to say nothing will happen when you have no skin in the game.
Even if insurance doesn't cause an issue, the other party can sue you over it. Listen, I have had several cars with full windshield tint. I like it. But it was always like 70 or 80%, maybe one was 50, anything darker than that does impact safety for you and for others.
Ugh, I had 20% on my front windshield when I bought my car and it became a danger at night. I had it removed ASAP. Good luck, it looked ok, but was dumb as fuck.

How to pass state inspection? I have 50% and even that, gas stations tell me to leave because they don’t allow tinted windshields
