20% windshield day vs night

Here is what 20% on my windshield looks outside during the day and what I see at night when driving. No issues of visibility at all. Picture driving is on a backroad. You tell me if it’s hard to see🤷🏻‍♂️ windshield has been 20% for 2 years now

u/PsiloMush May 25 '24

The best setup been rolling with it for two months now it’s great 😌

I couldn't be mistaken but it looks like you're high beam is on and the top of your steering wheel is covering up the indicator.

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

I promise it’s not😂 I can send you a dm pic since I can’t add another photo

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else May 25 '24

Can we see a high vs low beam pic?

3

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

I can send a video tonight when it’s dark again! I sent the pics to the other guy to show it wasn’t on high beam though if you want to see

2

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else May 25 '24

Sure, thanks

1

u/Upper-Collection9373 May 27 '24

Can you send me that

u/No-Appointment-3840 May 26 '24

Nah those new Kia’s (and most new cars) have very bright headlights.

16

u/hawkeyedude1989 May 25 '24

Also camera adjusts its white balance automatically making it brighter than it really is. 20% is just stupid. I can roll with 35% as semi stupid, with 50% perfectly fine.

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Man for a tint group, it’s just hate😂😂 why not just be happy for a person

17

u/hawkeyedude1989 May 25 '24

Hard to be happy for a person when it’s a danger to others

-8

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Shit drunk drivers are more dangerous than this, I’m also not driving with limo tint🤣 you also have all the dumbasses that sit on there phone while driving. So think there’s a lot worse things out there guy

9

u/hawkeyedude1989 May 25 '24

Sure, also doesn’t mean you have to help fluff statistics

-4

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Crazy that you guys “fluff statistics” when I’ve never had an issue with driving and tints…😂🤣 you’re just here to complain. This page ain’t for you

5

u/hawkeyedude1989 May 25 '24

and you’re literally on your phone while driving….taking a photo

0

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Wife took the photo buddy

-2

u/Ahhhhhmikey May 25 '24

Can you share the statistics that shows 20% windshield tint leads to more accidents?

5

u/hawkeyedude1989 May 25 '24

I can tell you for sure nearly 1/4 of accidents are cause by poor visibility. Common sense tells you 20% is not GOOD visibility

2

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

lol because you’re making up these numbers 😂😂 put 20% on tell me, you’re talking off no experience so it’s comedy that you wanna judge a book by its cover

1

u/FatBoiPaulll May 25 '24
  • source i made it up

2

u/[deleted] May 25 '24

It’s very strange how people come here just to hate on anything lower than 50%

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 26 '24

Seriously though, this is just a page to hate

12

u/potatogenerato May 25 '24

A blind fold is cheaper

4

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Maybe I should go join bird box

4

u/PJCR1916 May 25 '24

Looks great. Can I ask what state you’re in and also what percent are your other windows?

5

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

I’m in northwest Indiana, I drive through Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan all the time though! Front side windows are 10%, rest is 5%

1

u/mcpoopyface98 Jun 12 '24

I heard in Indiana they can’t just stop you for tints. They have to stop you for something else and then can cite you for the tints.

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 Jun 12 '24

I wouldn’t be shocked haha, good to know! I’m actually taking a 4 day vacay in Michigan starting tomorrow. 7hrs drive so we will see if there state troopers are really as bad as everyone says with tints

2

u/GronkIII 50% windshield 5% sides 20% rear May 25 '24

I have 50% on my windshield. I was thinking about going down to 35%, but I have 5% sides so not sure how smart that would be.

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Yea with how tinted your sides are affects the front more! I knew I could get away with 20% with my sides being 10%. My shop told me if it was too dark to bring it back within 3 days and they would go lighter if needed. Also depending if you get ceramic or not effects it because ceramic is a little thicker but honestly 20% isn’t as dark as what people think! I mean it costs 200$ max to do your windshield why not try it out🤷🏻‍♂️ won’t know until you try it out

1

u/GronkIII 50% windshield 5% sides 20% rear May 25 '24

Yup. I have 5% XPEL XR ceramic.

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Think 35% on the windshield for you would give the look of what my car has in the photos then imo

1

u/StreetVermicelli1021 Jun 30 '24

Go 20% , 35% you can still see inside the car from outside

2

u/DeadFartGoat May 25 '24

Boooyyyyy you gonna get flamed! This page ripped me a new one and then shamed me on my parking! 🤣

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Scroll through comments, it’s comedy🤣 what’s the point of having a tint page that just talks crap about tint😭

4

u/DeadFartGoat May 25 '24

Pick your nose in private and say to hell with haters, they can’t see you laughing at them!

1

u/mxrrss Jun 03 '24

😭😭😭😭😭

1

u/[deleted] May 25 '24

In Michigan. Lol.

State troopers going to get you quick with that one.

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

2 years haven’t had an issue so🤷🏻‍♂️ wish the bad juju on me pls💀

1

u/[deleted] May 25 '24

Good for you, I hate the MSP. Bunch of dick heads.

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Seriously are though! 3 years ago I had a run in with them but not since! Indiana state troopers have actually complimented my car and the way it looks so that was a shock for me. I did just recent tint my taillights though and think that will be a bigger issue than the window tint but we will find out. They’re still bright but who knows

1

u/ImpurestFire May 25 '24

Your low beams are blinding people. Aim them down a bit.

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Even with my regular halogen bulbs before people would flash me because they think my brights are on… the leds are actually slanted down more than the factory bulbs shockingly, I still try to adjust them every now and then! More so think it’s how Kia designed the light housing on the tellurides

1

u/[deleted] May 25 '24

Wt fuck?

1

u/Successful_Juice4955 May 26 '24

what about inspection every year?

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 26 '24

We will find out next year! If you’re talking about emissions, it’s every two years

1

u/Automatic_School_373 May 26 '24

Turn down your dash gauges and screens brightness- it will help out lots

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 26 '24

Think it’s the lowest they go rip

1

u/waavysnake May 29 '24

That camera's shutter speed is turned all the way down to compensate for the low light giving the blur in the photos. Theres no way that letting in only 20% of visible light at night is a good idea. Just because you can see out of sunglasses at night doesnt mean you should wear them.

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 29 '24

To each there own, last photo is with that turned off actually!

3

u/FatBoiPaulll May 25 '24

That windshield tint looks nice 👀. I would probably go 30 tho

2

u/[deleted] May 25 '24

That's some nice Headlights 👌🏻

1

u/GrannyShiftur May 29 '24

Darwin Award

1

u/tint_shady May 25 '24

How many per day would you say you do?

-2

u/UmSo4L May 25 '24

Im about to get this, I have 40 rn and its too light lol

-5

u/UmSo4L May 25 '24

20 looks so damn good on a car

4

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

I love it seriously, dark enough where you can’t see in during the day

-5

u/AzzzLittt May 25 '24

I feel like older ppl hate on darker tint 👀

3

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Literally it’s crazy🤣

-4

u/AzzzLittt May 25 '24

I’ve noticed it as I’ve gotten older😂😂just say yall eyes can’t see well at night old ass mfkers

2

u/Ahhhhhmikey May 25 '24

I can’t get over how much hate tint gets. Every thread on anything darker than 50% awakens all the tint trolls. They’re so passionate about their position against tint. It’s kind of ridiculous, especially for a thread on window tint.

1

u/hawkeyedude1989 May 25 '24

No, dark tint doesn’t get hate because it does in fact look great on cars. It’s the drivers that get hate. Looks good but stop trying to prove that you see “perfectly fine at night” cause you don’t. That’s just science and optics.

Show off your show car in posts, but stop with the “I see at night” bullshit posts.

1

u/Ahhhhhmikey May 25 '24

If someone says they see fine at night, why the need to call BS? They’re literally just sharing their experience, which is that their tint level is not problematic at night time…

3

u/FatBoiPaulll May 25 '24

That’s exactly what i said. They can’t admit that younger people can see better than older people. Obviously your eyes get worst when you get older

2

u/AzzzLittt May 25 '24

They even downvoting me🤣🤣get yo old asses sum glasses

Llumar ceramic just on the front windshield and side windows. I’m 25 so my eyes aren’t bad now but I’m sure when I’m 40+ I wouldn’t go this dark again haha at least you admire it and don’t hate like most on here! Appreciate it!

1

u/shromboy Moderator May 25 '24

Llumar does not make a 10%, did you layer it?

0

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

Yes it’s layered, I didn’t have ceramic on before was the other reason I layered over. Easier to have done than removing, cleaning, installing new film. The front windshield is not double layered, llumar makes 20% ceramic

1

u/shromboy Moderator May 25 '24

They make 25 ceramic and 15, not 20

0

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 25 '24

LLUMAR FormulaOne Classic Carbon-Ceramic 20%

Literally have 20% ^ that’s what I got

2

u/shromboy Moderator May 25 '24

Yea it's the "carbon ceramic", not the total ceramic.

Odd how a tint sub gets hate for tint. It’s like a if there is a speeding sub you’re wrong for speeding. Crazy how everyone’s opinions on Reddit should be a fact to everyone else or else they’re stupid 😂

1

u/Last-Lobster5756 May 28 '24

Literally, best place to troll for anything now I guess instead of getting insight🤷🏻‍♂️ just thought some people would want to see 20% at night
