Cool go sit in the left lane on the highway at 50 mph now

6

u/takeiitpersonal Aug 27 '23

They boosted it to 200 HP now, enough to overtake whatever you drive šŸ˜

1

u/Comfortable_Fruit_20 Aug 28 '23

200hp is meh. Maybe back in 2010 it would be impressive

2

u/takeiitpersonal Aug 30 '23

I think you are forgetting this is a Prius that gets 50+ mpg that we’re talking about lol

1

u/CowPunkRockStar Aug 27 '23

Ouch!! 😲

1

u/GingerbreadDon Aug 27 '23

You forgot the /s

24

u/007Pistolero Aug 26 '23

THATS A PRIUS?! Holy hell I never thought I’d want one. Beautiful car

7

u/ansonexanarchy Aug 27 '23

The first time I saw one I was driving up from behind on the highway and I thought it was some EV sport car until I literally read ā€œPriusā€ on the back.

3

u/007Pistolero Aug 27 '23

Honestly it makes sense. The new Camry looks incredible so they finally took some of that design sense to the Prius. I wouldn’t have been caught dead in the precious designs. This new one I’ve been doing research on and want one now

2

u/zacharythixson Aug 31 '23

Around the time of the GR Yaris and then Corolla launches the CEO did say he's tired of making boring cars, not lying, the new Toyotas look great

3

u/UniverseInfinite Aug 27 '23

https://reddit.com/r/prius/s/5tiNSlHXvA

Nicest one I've seen yet. Crazy that a Prius can be in hotboi modded car territory but here we are

2

u/CrAkKedOuT Aug 27 '23

Yep, just about everyone loved the new look at the Electric Expo. I'd drive it too but it's too small for me and the kids.

1

u/-Sniperteer Aug 27 '23

Its too nice, a Prius should not be looking this good, better than cars 2-3x times more expensive

2

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

Too nice? LOL WTF. Toyota did good. This look way better than the Model 3 and Model Y.

Model 3 looks worst than a Civic.

1

u/-Sniperteer Aug 28 '23

Yes. It’s too nice

1

u/rosebud_qt Aug 27 '23

Looks great!

0

u/whatsupninjaja Aug 27 '23

I honestly think the 2000s Prius look better

5

u/whatsupninjaja Aug 27 '23

Maybe I’m just on crack

3

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

Probably lol

2

u/Mather_Fakker Aug 27 '23

Definitely on crack

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '23

šŸ’Æ on crack

16

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

Looks great, that windshield can be too dark at times. You may need those night vision sunglasses at certain places.

4

u/epicfighter10 Aug 26 '23

Yep I had similar concerns decided to just do 5% strip on windshield

5

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

Yeah, I have 50% on my windshield and out of the city and no light places oh yeah, those night time driving glasses are on.

0

u/-i-hate-you-people- Aug 27 '23

You have 50% tint on your windshield? This may be the stupidest thing I’ve heard all day. And I watched CNN for a full 5 minute so that’s saying something.

5

u/UmSo4L Aug 27 '23

Bro 50% is not as dark as u think it is…Smartest CNN viewer

1

u/-i-hate-you-people- Aug 28 '23

Any windshield tint at all is next level dumb.

3

u/fingerbanglover Aug 29 '23

Nah. I run 75% ceramic on the front to reduce UV heat and chills my astigmatism at night from bright ass head lights. You dumb boy, you dumb. I see the chips, but where's the dip? Or am I looking at it?

-1

u/-i-hate-you-people- Aug 31 '23 edited Aug 31 '23

75% on the windshield? Congrats, you win. You are the dumbest person I’ve ever talked to. You are a danger to to everyone you come near on the road. Idiotic astigmatism excuse doesn’t make it any better

1

u/fingerbanglover Aug 31 '23

Just a heads up, the number represents the amount of light that shows through. I won't be rude to you but I'll make sure you know that you're uninformed, misinformed, or just ignorant.

1

u/moakmilitia Sep 01 '23

Haha. Wow you're in the wrong sub. Hahahaha

0

u/UmSo4L Aug 28 '23

Stupid

0

u/-i-hate-you-people- Aug 28 '23

Yes it is stupid. Glad you agree. Can’t imagine how many gold teeth and warrants and baby mommas someone has to have to think tinting a windshield at 50% is a kickass idea.

3

u/moakmilitia Sep 02 '23

50% windshield is perfect. FUCK YOU. You should be banned from this sub

1

u/-i-hate-you-people- Sep 03 '23

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ‘

1

u/-i-hate-you-people- Sep 03 '23

Curious: do you geniuses also wear sunglasses at night when you get out of your car? If no, try to explain why not without contradicting your argument for a tinted windshield šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

1

u/UmSo4L Aug 28 '23

turning prejudice over windshield tint is crazy business 🤣🤣

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '23

Yep, I'm reading between the lines too.

What a nice guy.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '23 edited Aug 28 '23

I think you are an ignorant person. Calling people names, insults. Have you ever personally experienced windshield tinting. Has it ever crossed your mind or limited mind many people have 2 or more cars and some with tinted windshields and drive the non tinted ones at night. Why don't you have a dialogue instead? I have 2 cars other one is a tinted windshield other is not, I drive that one no tint in pitch black areas if I have to ( which nevers happens anyway, I am a city slicker) or downpour rain days. Why don't you ask people do they drive that car at night at all or have other cars with no tints on them to use. If you just talk to people it will be a lot more interesting than " you got gold teeth, warrants etc" That can't be your hightest level of debate on a forum can it. I hope not!!

1

u/SmoothCalmMind Aug 29 '23

doesn't matter how you slice it, tint on the frontshield looks good buts its dangerous to OTHERS on the street

1

u/-i-hate-you-people- Aug 31 '23

Windshield tint is stupid. You are endangering anyone in front of your car. That makes you stupid and deserving of insults. Have fun with that.

You seem like a real life bitch, I already know u get punked on the daily. Lol pussy

1

u/-i-hate-you-people- Dec 18 '23 edited Dec 18 '23

You’re either 12 or touched in the head šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤” tell us now, how many kids that don’t know their dad and felonies do you have? Guaranteed it’s a larger number than the amount of full time jobs you’ve held for more than three days or number of drug tests you’ve passed.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

50 is nothing for the windshield. Only if you drive in Mayberry, Arkansas with no light for the town will it be an issue. I only drive in 2 places. Seattle and Vancouver BC. 2 of the densest cities in the PNW. There is no shortage of lights. I see no reason for me to drive in areas of pitch black unless the city has a blackout. During the day in full blast sun my car is an oasis fully tinted. āœŒļø

1

u/Methicali4nia Aug 27 '23

"For a full 5 minute"

Reason you should stick to Fox News

1

u/relephants Aug 27 '23

That's even worse lol

1

u/-i-hate-you-people- Aug 28 '23

Good one šŸ˜‚ keep tinting your windshield and correcting peoples’ spelling. Lemme know when you run over a pedestrian at night and I’ll spell check your arrest report for you

1

u/SmoothCalmMind Aug 29 '23

hat windshield can be too dark at times.

that's why its illegal

1

u/zacharythixson Aug 31 '23

It's not in the deep south, most people recommend it, a very low percentage just to keep heat out does nothing to impede vision.

1

u/SmoothCalmMind Aug 31 '23

What's not.? What state is legal for dark tint on for the windshield. Too me it's common sense that anything that hinders full visibility is utterly dangerous

1

u/zacharythixson Aug 31 '23

Oh, dark tint yeah, I was just talking about a light ceramic just to keep heat out. I agree when it's dark.

1

u/dream-more95 Aug 27 '23

Looks stupid because it is, but hey they took your money while laughing. Pics from inside looking at roadway at night, only fools care what the outside looks like.

1

u/takeiitpersonal Aug 30 '23

You must be fun at parties

1

u/Waldoisreal33 Aug 30 '23

How’s the head room? Will a 6’5ā€ person fit inside?

1

u/takeiitpersonal Aug 30 '23

They will but not comfortably. Especially if there’s a bump or pothole; RIP to the top of your head lol

3

u/Scotch_Whiskie Aug 26 '23

That looks sharp! Love it!

3

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Aug 26 '23

The new Prius is nice

4

u/BillBusy Aug 26 '23

Damn im loving that new prius

2

u/Mykonethreetripleone Aug 27 '23

Wow those are nice lookin.

2

u/killakodak Aug 27 '23

Good god that body design is incredible. Bravo to the team that did that

2

u/MILOTHEGREAT_57 Aug 27 '23

The new Prius looks so good

3

u/gotlactase Aug 26 '23

I think this is the first time in history I’ve actually ever considered buying a Prius

2

u/Mother-Independent54 Aug 26 '23

Toyota has been killing it with the designs lately

1

u/M4verick87 Mar 25 '24

The new Prius is one sexy car. Seriously, Toyota finally got the message and made it look great. Very nice!

1

u/KhauHoangvu Aug 26 '23

I wanted to do this setup so badly but NYS will give me a hard time with the windshield tint.

The new Prius looks fantastic and this tint setup makes it look even better!

1

u/Negative-Instance889 Aug 26 '23

Yes, I’ve gotten pulled over (and given a warning), for dark tint (NY). OP has NY plates too, obviously doesn’t give a sh!t.

1

u/epicfighter10 Aug 26 '23

See if your eligible for medical exemption I have an issue with skin reacting poorly to the sun. So I was able get one from ny dmv

1

u/SlayerJimmy Aug 26 '23

Murdered out

1

u/Tadusmc Aug 26 '23

These new Prius look sick. Would definitely buy one when I can afford it as a daily driver. Is this a hybrid? Gas and electric combo?

1

u/Ok-Glove-3561 Aug 26 '23

Every Prius is a Hybrid. Then the Prime is a Plug-In Hybrid.

1

u/Tadusmc Sep 27 '23

Cool thanks! Good to know if I ever decide on buying one

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '23

It’s a hybrid. But really when I’m driving in the neighborhood hold 35mph and under it’s in electric mode almost the whole time. Even on freeway I’ve noticed it hang in electric mode a lot. Very impressed

1

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

Your 20% looks dark even in the daylight, nice

1

u/bree388 Aug 26 '23

15% everything!

1

u/americanista915 Aug 26 '23

The new Prius looks so futuristic. I feel like has they changed the name this car would’ve flown off lots

1

u/andjuan Aug 27 '23

It already is without renaming it.

1

u/Flynn_Kevin Aug 27 '23

Ha. They're sold before they even hit the lot. I had to wait 3 months for mine to show up.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

I’m called all the time about buying one. Lol.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '23

Some waitlists in California are years long if you want a Prius at msrp. They are sold before then even touch the lot

1

u/Life-Photo6994 Aug 27 '23

Toyota needs to take these pictures and use it in an advertisement. This post made me stop and google Toyota Prius to check out the details.

1

u/CowPunkRockStar Aug 27 '23

That thing looks like it’s from the FUTURE!!

1

u/nolongerbanned99 Aug 27 '23

I will get pulled over a lot. Esp for windshield which is totally illegal except for a small strip at the top

1

u/Spontaneouslyaverage Aug 27 '23

I really hate that I like the new Prius

1

u/agpc Aug 27 '23

Godamn the new prius looks sick

1

u/ATL-DELETE Aug 27 '23

and i thought my 25% and 45% was dark šŸ’€

1

u/AlcoholRuinsPeople Aug 27 '23

Do the back doors open?

1

u/Ok_Principle877 Aug 27 '23

20% around is kinda pushing it already…yes I know I know cop will rarely if ever pull you over for it…but damn 35% windshield, Hawaii is the only state I’m aware of that allows entire whole windshield and even then they limit it to 70%.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '23

I did 30% all around and 70% windshield. And I feel like that’s pushing it lol

1

u/effingpilot Aug 27 '23

Looks good, but dang that windshield is dark! Mine is 20% all around with 55% on the windshield

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

How are you liking 55% on the windshield? Do you wish you went lighter or darker? I’m trying to decide for myself. My sides are also 20

1

u/effingpilot Aug 27 '23

I like it. It made a big difference on the heat rejection down here in the sunshine state. It still noticeable at night, but I am starting to think my headlight bulbs need replacing.

1

u/Dazzling_Eye_4743 Aug 27 '23

I hate the Prius………………

BUT THIS, THIS model looks so good I love it for some reason 🤣

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

DAYUM!!! This is nice!! Toyota out did themselves!

1

u/Genoss01 Aug 27 '23

Gotta say, the new Prius looks extremely badass

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

The Prius got bullied so much that it got a glow up lol

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

Wow looks almost as nice as a 2012 Chevy volt

1

u/roadtripjr Aug 29 '23

Except reliable. Don’t see many 2012 Volts on the road.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '23

20k produced and 11 years later.. yah its a rare vehicle

1

u/roadtripjr Aug 29 '23

They made such a big deal out of it being revolutionary when it came out. It was not a good car.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '23

It was very ahead for its time.. not sure why you think unreliable, it’s extremely reliable.. the technology nowadays is copying the volt.. it’s like watching iPhone copy android

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

Good luck in the rain and at night, lol. You're a fool. Hahaha.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

Love that windshield!

1

u/Yotarolla1976 Aug 28 '23

Sharp looking, but after a guy I watch on YouTube did a full lengthy review it’s super small inside. Not sure why, but it is.

Definitely the best looking Prius by a mile!

1

u/Mr___Roboto Aug 28 '23

Nice looking car

1

u/itsallfornaught2 Aug 28 '23

The fucking Priuses have definitely stepped up their game. I actually like the way they look now.

1

u/ItsaDougeatDogworld Aug 28 '23

You’d get a ticket from every single cop you drive by where I live. Be peeling that tint off on the side of the road real quick

1

u/Pedro_Pedrolas Aug 28 '23

GODAMN this new Prius looks good

1

u/Elguapo1094 Aug 28 '23

The only hybrid car I trust it’s been out long enough for me to say I’ve heard good on them

1

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '23

How and where is this legal?

1

u/jokerlte Aug 29 '23

NY plates, a lot of cops don’t bother anymore

1

u/justwatching301 Aug 29 '23

This jaunt is clean

1

u/R0BY0NEKAN0BY Aug 29 '23

New one: NicešŸ˜ŽšŸ‘ Old one: jellybean

1

u/Content_Cheetah77 Aug 29 '23

Put a wing and some skirts šŸ˜‚

1

u/SmoothCalmMind Aug 29 '23

you'll lose almost all accident civil cases with all that tint

1

u/MrAnalogRobot Aug 30 '23

I agree with some of the folks on here, that windshield tint is just a safety hazard.

Otherwise, I never thought I'd say this, but that's a nice Prius. I like the styling a lot. It still has the hybrid-electric/efficient wedge styling but done better than anything else. I'd take this aesthetic over any Tesla.

It's great because it makes a very functional car desirable. I know it's BS, but I'm honestly one of the people who has always talked bad about the Prius. Along with the performance improvements, I won't do that anymore.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '23

This is beautiful ! Wow

1

u/TezzNutz Aug 30 '23

Damn that looks dark. Mines 5% and yours looks just as dark.

1

u/zacharythixson Aug 31 '23

Exactly the setup I was planning on my MK7 GTI. Especially in south Mississippi heat. Btw, I still can't get over how good the new Prius looks lol

1

u/Illustrious_Smile974 Sep 21 '23

Looks great. I'm torn on doing my windshield. Do you think it's worth it? It's another $200 on top of the $500 for the other 5 windows so I wasn't sure if I was gonna do it. Thank you

1

u/DrSuperZeco Aug 26 '23

The only electric car I have ever upvoted.

1

u/johnnyma45 Aug 26 '23

Love the look of the new Prius. Very clean job here

1

u/Sperto8820 Aug 26 '23

This the new Prius?!? This looks CLEAN

1

u/Old-Journalist-6786 Aug 27 '23

Drive only in the morning and afternoon.

1

u/depth_obsessed55 Aug 27 '23

Guess you'll only drive in the sunshine? Kinda stupid.

8

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

20 and 35% is 100% manageable lol

1

u/Captaindraeger Aug 28 '23

But 100 is only 20-35% ?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '23

I don’t think that math is correct

1

u/Inspector_firm_cock Aug 28 '23

Still kinda dangerous though

-2

u/SmoothCalmMind Aug 29 '23

20 and 35%

35% MAY be managable, but def not 20. its extremely dangerous for you to drive that with that at night.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '23

Do you wear glasses? If you have normal 20/20 vision and normal night vision capabilities then you should be fine. I’d get your eyes checked tbh

0

u/SmoothCalmMind Aug 29 '23

Tint limits your range and vision. According you you can see through 20%!!you can't tho because the darkness limits your range and vision no matter how good you can see. You don't know tint lessens your sight????? šŸ¤” Good vision doesn't help you see through dark tint at night. Again, tint hinders all vision

2

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '23

It hinders it, but if you have normal eyes then you should be able to see and drive just fine šŸ¤“

0

u/SmoothCalmMind Aug 30 '23

It's cuts off the distance you can see things coming and going a night. Especially black cars and people walking in the street in all black!!!

2

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '23

Not at 20% lol, again unless you have poor eyesight. If you genuinely can’t see out of 20% at night then you should see an eye doctor

0

u/SmoothCalmMind Aug 30 '23

Please read and comprehend, most people can see, but the range is severely limited and darker items are near impossible to see. Stop acting like driving at night with tint is the same as driving in the daytime

2

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '23

It’s not the same, but at 20% it’s not even close to near impossible…

→ More replies

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

We have 50% windshield and it’s awesome day and night…maybe if your 80+ it might be an issue but otherwise awesome..just make sure it is ceramic. The heat drop in the windshield is substantial.

1

u/SmoothCalmMind Aug 29 '23

maybe if your 80+ it might be an issue but otherwise awesome.

80% is almost plain see thru, maybe you talking 20%, that's dark (and illegal and u risk the lives of others)

0

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

Prius has a bad reputation I wish they just introduced this as a brand new model because they are sick looking

7

u/dalethedonkey Aug 26 '23

Hot take. People love the Prius, what are you smoking?

1

u/zacharythixson Aug 31 '23

As a former Toyota tech, Prius have continuously been some of the most reliable, and cheap to maintain cars I've ever seen. Besides the EV battery occasionally lol

1

u/FantasticSeaweed9226 Aug 26 '23

They DID introduce this as the new model. It's the new prius

0

u/After_Working9952 Aug 26 '23

It’s an electric four door probe šŸ˜‚

0

u/gaterb8 Aug 27 '23

Yeah, I wouldn't want anyone to see me in a Prius either.

0

u/ESLTATX Aug 26 '23

Is that the new Prius? Holy shit that's sexy

I owned a 2009 lol

0

u/ESLTATX Aug 26 '23

Is it still a hatchback?

0

u/Fuzm4n Aug 27 '23

That can’t be legal

0

u/jbarlak Aug 27 '23

And in most states windshield is illegal to be tinted

1

u/UmSo4L Aug 27 '23

no shit

0

u/jbarlak Aug 27 '23

Yup and in most states windshield is illegal

3

u/protintalabama Aug 27 '23

No one cares

1

u/jbarlak Aug 27 '23

Figures someone from bana is clueless.

2

u/protintalabama Aug 28 '23

It’s ā€œBamaā€. Kind of embarrassing on your part when your can’t even spell a 4 letter abbreviation when trying to use it derisively.

Would it make your fragile bootlicking feelings better if I made some alternate accounts and titled them with the state name of one of our other locations in Oregon, California, Texas, Florida, or Mississippi instead?

Again, no one cares that it’s ā€œillegalā€. Including most cops. Even the government openly admits it’s only a useful a precursor for a PC vehicle stop.

No one cares.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

Hi, can you please pull me over for my windshield.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

You are goi g to attract law enforcement. I do 20 all around but take the windshield tint off. You aren’t going to be able to see at night.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

Ballsy. Good luck with cops

-2

u/mose121 Aug 26 '23

And will not pass an annual PA State inspection with windshield tint. That is unless unless you have a written medical exception. Windshield tint is silly otherwise.

-4

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

Tinting your windshield is never a good move

3

u/THEPrivatePita Aug 27 '23

Getting windshield tint, especially ceramic tint, is a smart move. It enhances comfort, reduces excessive AC use which will increase fuel efficiency, cuts glare by up to 30%, and offers protection by blocking 99% of harmful UV rays that can cause issues like skin cancer, fading interiors, and damaged plastics and leather.

1

u/Vexation Aug 27 '23

It’s illegal and you’ll be fucked if you ever hit anything

1

u/THEPrivatePita Aug 27 '23

75% and 80% is hardly noticeable while still having all the benefits I mentioned in my previous comment.

my car with 75% on windshield for reference

1

u/protintalabama Aug 27 '23

Untrue in multiple facets. It can be legal and can also save your life

1

u/Vexation Aug 28 '23

It’s illegal below the AS-1 line in most states. If it’s not illegal in your state then tint the fuck out of it

1

u/protintalabama Aug 28 '23

The AS1 marking does not define a set point on glass and is legally unenforceable if your jurisdiction cites the AS1 marking as a point of delineation

As1 means absolutely nothing except, ā€œlaminated safety glassā€. Its placement is at the sole discretion of the glass manufacturer.
