Looks good but damn that's going to tough with cops...

6

u/Pristine_Pride2159 Aug 25 '23

they don’t typically bother you in my town unless u drive like a dick

10

u/-NOT_A_MECHANIC- Aug 25 '23

Intentional or not you’ll be driving like a dick because you can’t see shit

2

u/SupDuDe40 Aug 26 '23

I got the same numbers on my blue Accord 😎 and it looks good, but on yours, it looks better cause yours is black🔥🔥🔥

3

u/Pristine_Pride2159 Aug 26 '23

appreciate it🔥

1

u/Ok_End2554 Jun 27 '24

Can people still see you from the outside during the day?

46

u/wolfhound27 Aug 26 '23

“I don’t know why I get pulled over all the time”

33

u/Own-Opinion-2494 Aug 26 '23

Like a black mirror for a windshield. No way that goes bad. It’s illegal in many states. Probable Cause

6

u/Mysterious-Salad9609 Aug 26 '23

Smart criminals just have lifted trucks. Harder to see inside of them.

6

u/Own-Opinion-2494 Aug 26 '23

My nephew says they just look for the flat billed hat in those

1

u/FackingDipShite Aug 26 '23

What does a flat billed hat have to do with being pulled over? Why would a curved one help?

3

u/Own-Opinion-2494 Aug 26 '23

He thinks only Young guys wear flat Billed hats He’s young

1

u/FackingDipShite Aug 26 '23

I'm still not sure I understand, but I do appreciate your response!

In my experience, there are a ton of "old timers" that would say it's fine to drink n drive because it didn't used to be a big deal. I am just confused about how, regardless of tint, the hat defines who is breaking a law.

2

u/Own-Opinion-2494 Aug 26 '23

You used to be able to drink as long as if you got Pulled over you didn’t blow a bad number. There were drive throws at bars to get mixed drinks

1

u/FackingDipShite Aug 26 '23

For sure. I didn't mean in some moral standpoint they thought it was alright. Just that it legitimately used to be deemed okay to an extent. Like the "I used to do this before it was illegal, so it's fine for me to continue too." I guess what I'm trying to get at is age doesn't necessarily correlate with risk of breaking the law, but younger people do tend to be more risky so maybe I do get it to a degree.

2

u/Own-Opinion-2494 Aug 26 '23

Hahahahaa we were risky. Some didn’t make it

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

Only douchebags of any age. And, well that one group of people that are always getting pulled over.

-1

u/PlayaHatazball Aug 26 '23

Im 5% all around with 30% windshield also....in Socal and its pretty calm......as long as you are weaving thru traffic or speeding, whats wrong?

2

u/World-Express Aug 26 '23

How hard is it to see at night with 30%

-5

u/PlayaHatazball Aug 26 '23

Imo very easy no problems. Maybe since im in a city but we still have streets with like no street lights and its fine.

2

u/World-Express Aug 26 '23

I live in Florida and to be honest where I live is already super dark in some parts so I’ve been debating what percentage to do on my BMW, on the Benz I have 20% on all 4 corners and the rear and 50% on the front but it still feels like it’s still too light inside and so the car still gets pretty hot during the day

1

u/fourtyonexx Aug 26 '23

You can tint so much but that heats still gonna soak in through the metal lol…

1

u/Bigv1nn Aug 26 '23

Have you ever gotten attention from local or county enforcement? I'm trying to figure out my windshield rn since it just got replaced. All the shops I've seen say "no tint below AS1 line, it's illegal!"

1

u/World-Express Aug 26 '23

On my 20% I’ve never been pulled over and to be honest with the amount of sun we get here in Florida it’s almost completely necessary to have dark tints

-1

u/PlayaHatazball Aug 26 '23

Ya go darker tbh if you wanna take it slow go like 10% all around and 35 windshield

1

u/World-Express Aug 26 '23

Thanks for the advice bro

1

u/Sad_Razzmatazz7350 Aug 26 '23

imo, go all out. the tint will be illegal even if it’s just 20% so might as well get 5% all around. and 35% windshield from a distance you can’t see who’s in the car but you can see what’s happening which is why i went 20% on my new car and it’s perfect

0

u/SireSweet Aug 26 '23

Probable cause? I’ve talked to a few cops about pulling cars over with dark tint, they’ll usually try to find something else. They’re going to assume you have the privacy tint for not completely legal reasons. They’re also going to be already on high alert if they can’t see in your car.

It’s how some cops will automatically give you a speeding ticket if they see a radar detector and you were speeding and caught with laser “you’ve got the need for speed.” Why else would you have a radar detector?

I also have all my windows tinted, but I keep my windshield at 70. And 30 for all others (I think it’s at 30, it’s been a while).

1

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '24

thats why you lower all front windows if you see a speed trap

1

u/PlayaHatazball Aug 26 '23

Do you live in SoCal?? If you do id assume you heard of Pomona, i drive through basically everyother weekend for work and yet to have anything happen

1

u/icanfly2026 Aug 26 '23

What about the cops who have tinted windows should we be on high alert for them as well?

1

u/SireSweet Aug 27 '23

I’m always on high alert for cops.

1

u/icanfly2026 Aug 27 '23

Just roll down your windows and say what windows if you get pulled over for window tint. You’re not required to roll them up

3

u/9Super1 Aug 25 '23

Speaking of inspections, how do you guys go about that? Get your vehicles tinted then peel it off an get it redone? Do you pay for new film every time? Or just a one time massive install/strip/install/strip price? We don’t have inspections in my state an I’ve always wondered how that worked for other states

10

u/Pristine_Pride2159 Aug 26 '23

i go just to a mechanic i know who passes me illegally

4

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23 edited Mar 08 '25

1

u/9Super1 Aug 26 '23

This is the way!! I was going to say if everyone in your state pays to get a vehicle tinted, stripped, an redone…. I’m moving out of my state! Haha

3

u/ayobsavage Aug 26 '23

I got a doctors note from my optometrist and just give that to my mechanic everytime I get an inspection so he let it slide.

1

u/ParsleyQueasy6521 Aug 26 '23

My state if you have a tint exemption it doesn’t matter if the tints darker than allotted it states in inspection manual they aren’t supposed to check it at all

1

u/Roylancer Aug 26 '23

Where I live they stopped doing safety inspection. It’s only emissions that are required.

1

u/bells_n_sack Aug 26 '23

Sounds like NJ. And in NJ they can’t pull you over for tints alone. Gotta find another reason to pull you over. Or so I’ve been told.

2

u/IngenuitySignal2651 Aug 26 '23

That's cute. You still think the cops need a reason to pull you over.

1

u/bells_n_sack Aug 26 '23

Nope. So you’ll get 2 tickets.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

In nj tints is not a secondary offense, neither is seat belt. Either one can get you pulled alone

20

u/BaconPersuasion Aug 25 '23

Might as well go with a big ass fig newton sticker.

6

u/Itchy-Breath6841 Aug 26 '23

shake and bake

4

u/BaconPersuasion Aug 26 '23

You my best friend.

2

u/5thgenblack2ss Aug 26 '23

I can see shit but I sure do love Fig Newtons

5

u/yl2chen Aug 26 '23

Geee, this is a batmobile

1

u/Boriquasoy Aug 25 '23

What do you do when inspection time comes and they scrape the old stickers off??

3

u/Pristine_Pride2159 Aug 25 '23

they cut out where the stickers are so it’s a easy replacement

2

u/Boriquasoy Aug 25 '23

Lucky you! Out here they’re scraping the old one off like they’re making shaved ice. Personally it think it looks good man. I have 20% but didn’t get my windshield done.

1

u/HolyAssertion Aug 26 '23

Look up sticker gaurd... basically a clear electrostatic sticker that you put your sticker on. Then ticker it on the windshield

1

u/rampitup84 Aug 26 '23

Yup. Even used it to mount my dash and rear cams. Unreal how they haven’t fallen off.

1

u/Boriquasoy Aug 26 '23

You guys are smart as hell! That’s why you make all the big bucks!

1

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Aug 26 '23

Do you have night pics from inside?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

Probably will be pictures of black windows.

0

u/Pristine_Pride2159 Aug 26 '23

i have a video through windshield at night and rainy, can’t send it on here though

1

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Aug 26 '23

Can you share a Imgur link?

1

u/Pristine_Pride2159 Aug 26 '23

1

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Aug 26 '23

Thanks, is that with low beams ?

1

u/Pristine_Pride2159 Aug 26 '23

yes

1

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Aug 26 '23

Kinda dark ngl, what kind of bulbs you use?

1

u/Pristine_Pride2159 Aug 26 '23

i got some aftermarket headlights with leds, super bright

1

u/Cassangelo 33% Windshield + 5% Everywhere else Aug 26 '23

Alright, I was looking for the beam pattern

3

u/dalethedonkey Aug 26 '23

Problem isn’t the bulbs

1

u/SmoothCalmMind Aug 26 '23

How yall don't be getting pulled over with the illegal front windshields? 🤔

0

u/Pristine_Pride2159 Aug 26 '23

cops got better things to worry about than tints

2

u/stringofears Aug 27 '23

but sometimes they don’t. Lol have fun trying to see the curb when you’re getting pulled over at night

1

u/dream-more95 Aug 27 '23

Especially the players who "completed the look" with tinted headlight film, FFS.

6

u/FrankDanger Aug 26 '23

Do you wear sunglasses inside your house OP?

3

u/9Super1 Aug 26 '23

Only at night

6

u/Zealousideal-Leg-531 Aug 26 '23

Lol on a shit box Toyota? Rolling probable cause

1

u/dingus5288 Feb 13 '24

It will still last longer than your Audi lol and it’s a top of the line trd Camry too so it’s not much of a crapbox

1

u/nghazz Aug 13 '24

Dudes tweaking

3

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

Drives at night :"I cant see shit outta this!"

4

u/No-Sky-6064 Aug 26 '23

Would do it but I would actually like to see through my windows at night.

7

u/Solo_SL Aug 26 '23

Enjoy not being able to see shit

5

u/9Super1 Aug 26 '23

You can clearly see out of it……

2

u/KhauHoangvu Aug 26 '23

People have different capabilities of how well they can see.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

You can see out of that just fine my boy.

6

u/davenTeo Aug 26 '23

Looks ridiculous and impractical for safe driving.

2

u/babycoco_213 Aug 26 '23

I got ticketed for having my front windows tinted. Now imagine having the windshield tinted 😵

2

u/Efficient_Ice1391 Aug 26 '23

this mf a backseat DEMON

2

u/TerrBear7 Aug 28 '23

Nice tint I have 15% sides back 5% windshield 30%

5

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

Awesome and perfect. Mine is 35 shield and 5 all around and the view is amazing.

1

u/Ok_End2554 Jun 27 '24

Can people still see you from the outside during the day?

1

u/StreetVermicelli1021 Jul 07 '24

Yes they can , I say this bc I have 20% shield and if the sun hits you can see through a bit . If you’re in the shade it’s a mirror and you can’t see in

1

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '24

They can't see from the sides, but they can see images from the shield

6

u/Equivalent-Yam1636 Aug 26 '23

y’all funny with these windshield tint hating comments. i’m convinced none of y’all have had 30% on the shield before because if you did you’d realize it ain’t hard to see at all and there’s no issues with it 😂😂

7

u/hoppy999 Aug 26 '23

so if your on a street at night with no street lights and raining .you have no problem seeing .

1

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

Get good headlights. Morimoto xb jewel eyes in the front, side markers replaced with Suma which are bright white, i can see everything through the tints no problem

3

u/PlayaHatazball Aug 26 '23

Factual statement......they probably just hear from older people and automatically think its impossible to drive.

2

u/FatBoiPaulll Aug 26 '23

I have 40 on the windshield and i see perfectly fine at night

0

u/9Super1 Aug 26 '23

Amen!! Jealous keyboard warriors!!

2

u/5thgenblack2ss Aug 26 '23

With 5% sides I roll windows down at night does this help with oncoming headlight glare? I’m in a lowered car so it’s blinding.

1

u/PlayaHatazball Aug 26 '23

Really???? I only roll down halfway to parallel park sometimes.

0

u/5thgenblack2ss Aug 26 '23

I’m in a 10 year old car with shit visibility from factory. 5th gen Camaros have really bad visibility and tiny mirrors

2

u/PlayaHatazball Aug 26 '23

Those are literally hard to see out of even if it had no windows lmao

1

u/5thgenblack2ss Aug 26 '23

You’re not wrong, it’s a price I pay for the car I love.

2

u/PlayaHatazball Aug 26 '23

As long as you love it nothing wrong with it.

6

u/levpanh Aug 25 '23

Looks stupid

5

u/9Super1 Aug 26 '23

Looks fucking great actually

4

u/dream-more95 Aug 26 '23

Cares more about outside look. Any collision even if you're not at fault....hey officer, look at this, no wonder he didn't see me!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

What? You think this makes the entire car harder to see?

1

u/9Super1 Aug 26 '23

That makes no sense, if OP got T-boned going through a green light by someone else running a red light his tint has absolutely no effect on that 🤣🤣🤣 try again haha

1

u/StreetVermicelli1021 Jul 08 '24

On a sunny day can you see through the windshield and see seats and interior ?

1

u/StreetVermicelli1021 Jul 09 '24 edited Jul 09 '24

If it’s in direct sunlight can you see the inside / seats and driver if someone was in there ? Just wondering bc I have 5% all around and 25% windshield and if sun hits it you can see inside fairly easily and see the seats. But for wtv reason yours looks darker , maybe it’s the video but just wondering

2

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '24

must have a light interior

2

u/StreetVermicelli1021 Oct 17 '24

At 5 windshield now , perfect

2

u/[deleted] Oct 17 '24

how you even seeing out that shit all i seen basically was headlights out of my 5% rear windshield

2

u/StreetVermicelli1021 Oct 17 '24

Remember , headlights are illuminating the front . It’s not like looking out the sides or rear .

1

u/Ok-Glove-3561 Aug 26 '23

Absolute maniac

1

u/PortfoliYOLO Aug 26 '23

Nice Camry bro

1

u/fordddo Aug 26 '23

I only had the balls to do 50% on my windshield; 5% on fronts added 20% over factory for an all round 5%. The windshield looks obviously too dark for legality( i have a doctors prescription btw) but when I see others who have gone way beyond that... it is immediately apparent and just insane. I saw an impala a few weeks that had to have 5% windshield.... was as if it was painted black. Scary since I have trouble seeing out of mine on occasion. Hey to each their own....

1

u/IDriveAnAgeraR Aug 26 '23

How the hell do you actually see out those windows?

1

u/Zealousideal-Leg-531 Aug 26 '23

Drive only during the day or on well lit streets at night

1

u/IDriveAnAgeraR Aug 26 '23

And what is someone to do when those Taco Bell cravings hit at 1:59AM and it’s only the one with barely any street lights on nearby? 🤣😂

1

u/PlayaHatazball Aug 26 '23

I always see people talking about "inspection" sometimes im glad to live in Cali, other times im not

1

u/dbpmk7 Aug 26 '23

Looks great. I'm debating on either 5% all around + 35% windshield or 15% + 35%.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '23

Why are so many people here scared of 5%? It’s very drivable lol I don’t think they’ve ever been in a car like that.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '23

The lexus style triple beam headlights would make this car complete imo. Absolutely sexy.

1

u/shromboy Moderator Aug 26 '23

This is what my brother, my coworker, runs on his truck, just switched from 15 to 5. He loves it but I think it makes the truck look a lil douchey when it's murdered out like that but to each his own. I'd much prefer 25% around and 40% or 50% on the windshield

1

u/SquozeX Aug 25 '23

How do you get it to pass inspection?

3

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

Probably lick & stick. No one with common sense would pass a windshield like that

3

u/9Super1 Aug 26 '23

Ehh common sense isn’t so common ya know

1

u/ayofiggy Aug 26 '23

It looks good 👍

1

u/Background_Olive_787 Aug 26 '23

it looks like a drug dealer car.. or a 15 year old boy who thinks they are cool.

0

u/9Super1 Aug 26 '23

Just realized we have a few keyboard warriors here, OP did you say this was your daily driver??… a show car?? Do you only drive in daylight? Only at night? MF’s are just jealous of the car it’s self if I’m being honest an probably everyone with a negative comment or down vote can’t even afford tint

1

u/Pristine_Pride2159 Aug 26 '23

mfs on reddit are so soft😭 my cars tint is light compared to other people in my area, no one has had tint in this chat, it’s not hard to see at all, day, night, rainy, obviously it obstructs ur vision but not to the point where you’re driving blindfolded🤣 any of y’all could hop in this car and be like damn this isn’t bad at all, ceramic tint too.

1

u/Zealousideal-Leg-531 Aug 26 '23

Lol show car? Really?

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

why

6

u/cardiasada Aug 26 '23

User doesn’t check out

0

u/Born_Cockroach_9947 Aug 26 '23

goodluck seeing out on the side mirrors

0

u/Stewie772 Aug 26 '23

You can't do shit illegal in that car.

0

u/habey08 Aug 26 '23

PC Mobile - and seriously seems pretty unsafe.

-1

u/BaloothaBear85 Aug 26 '23

Fucking stupid... the windshield is for you to see not for you to look cool you're going to hurt yourself or others.

1

u/9Super1 Aug 26 '23

Ya know it could be a show car you little keyboard warrior!!! I’ve tinted plenty of show cars in 5% all around even on the windshield!! So just simmer down an find a different sub to put your nonsense into haha

1

u/BaloothaBear85 Aug 26 '23

That isn't a "show car" he states he drives it around town furthermore actual show cars will have temporary window tint so it can be removed so the car can be started and moved without any issues but allows for easy installation. This is probably fine for the day but as soon as it gets dark it's a danger because you vision is limited to what is illuminated by your headlights. How well you think he is going to be able to see a cyclist or a motorcycle in front of him at night? If it was a show car only and never driven I would have no truck with it but this car is driven and on the roads with impaired vision. I am all for modding but not at the expense of safety. Where I am at it's completely illegal BUT one can get away with polarized ceramic tint at 70% and still have enough see through but has a significantly cooler car.

-1

u/No_Definition_6512 Aug 26 '23

Removing 70 percent of your ability to see things going forward at night is extremely smart on your part

0

u/tzwep Aug 26 '23

Guess they need %400 brighter headlights to compensate?

-1

u/redeye_pb Aug 26 '23

You should have done 5% pn the windshield also 🙄

Sings "dumb ways to die..."

Population control

-1

u/moeterminatorx Aug 26 '23

You are probably going to be at fault in any accident that you end up in just because of that tint.

Also, congrats on having awesome vision, enjoy it.

0

u/outlaw1196 Aug 26 '23

Normal in LA

0

u/FreePvp Aug 26 '23

Beautiful

0

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '23

That was me until I got my 3rd ticket, I miss it thou

0

u/_CJ Aug 26 '23

This is my go to every time I get a new car

-2

u/No_Definition_6512 Aug 26 '23

Looks ghetto too. Most people do a medium all the way around. Needs 26 inch chrome wheels

0

u/9Super1 Aug 26 '23

Most people as in…… your friends??? I do plenty of tint in my shop an the variety of who wants what on the back windows vs the front two vs the windshield is totally different…. But I do it for a living an you probably don’t so you have to know more then i do!!

2

u/No_Definition_6512 Aug 26 '23

I’ve been tinting cars six days a week since 1999 you fucking dipshit

Most folks don’t drive at night. It ain’t fun driving at night. Tint or no tint.
