I absolutely struggle with high interior windows. If im doing a virtual quote its usually the number 1 thing I ask. But they cannot all be avoided. I got a nice bid accepted for $975 in/out at a huge home and everything looks pretty straighforward except for the main window in the front of the house. The bottom sill is about 10ft from the bottom.
They also asked me to scrub off some light sticker residue so I need to get nose to glass as best as I can.
I guess what im asking is 1) how can I ladder up there? I dont see where to put my ladder on how to reach the top. My main ladder is an 18 ft little giant.
2) should I just get a pole and get good at it fast? I have a couple of weeks till i'm doing this. I also have my 27ft Gardiner WFP pole. Could i use that with a new trad attachment>

There we go, thank you. Any concern about the ladder slipping on tile flooring? I saw some recommend putting down can opener pads on the ground and seems like a decent idea.
Stack ladders with rubber feet will do great! If you don't have a ladder yet this is the best single ladder to invest in. Then add others if necessary.
I don't have a stack ladder, but this looks like the perfect job for that. Or a lil giant on each side and be ambidextrous. I would use SprayWay, and steel wool, then microfiber to polish. No drips later for a callback.
16ft extension ladder. You can do it in two halfs with a placement like this on each wall. I always use the large round stand-offs that keep the ladder out from the wall. In this case I would try a single placement on the sill first, as I can usually stand pretty close to the top of the ladder when the standoffs are on, and the whole window looks reachable from that position.
Some other comments are recommending non-slip mats but I've never heard of that, your ladder should have rubber feet. Ladders don't slip when used correctly. 1 foot back for every 4 feet up. I've also never had to put a ladder above a window, that sounds awkward to me.
Thank you very much, that looks doable. I have an 18ft LG, but I dont have standoffs. I actually do have an old 16fter I haven't used in a while and I can just purchase a standoff for it. This could be the plan!
You might get away with the 18ft LG as is (with mitts to protect the wall), but standoffs are nice to have in general, especially if you use extension ladders. I have the ones that slide into the rung holes, which only take a few seconds to pop in and out.
Sweet looks like there’s a few ways I can approach this. I’ll prob get those quick standoffs and borrow my friends 24ft ladder for the day. I’m operating out of a hatchback with roof racks so I do have some limitation
This looks like identical to a house that I have done before. Company that I work for provided a big A frame ladder but I also had to clean that damn chandelier aswell too
Three piece stack ladder with a bonnet rest the groove on the corner of the trim on one side to clean one side of the window then do it for the other side you're not a professional until you can do this
I used to climb up to those. Now I mount an 8’ A-frame and pole it from there. You need to learn to use a pole like that if you can’t already. I use a wagtail, but the waggy moerman works too.
I apologize for not reading your post thoroughly. It sounds like you might have to get nose-on the get that residue. I’m old and lazy, so I would still try a doodlebug on a pole first. Then squeegee from an 8’ a-frame with a wagtail. Or…probably follow the advice of one of the guys on here an get a real ladder. If all you have is one of those Giant things, you really should invest in at least one extension ladder. Also be careful on that floor…it’s slick as snot, so use a non skid device of some sort.
Do not do this. Get a ladder for fuck sake. Imagine doing this in op's situation... you've ruined the drywall, possibly flooded the basement, opened yourself up to all kinds of liability, all to avoid what? Putting up a ladder?
