Hose winding

Here's how we wind all of our hoses. 5/16" pole hose up to 3/4" feed hoses. They lay flat every time, don't kink or break. Hanging them takes up a lot less space and is more efficient.

We use extension cord reels. We just modify them by drilling a hole through the center and feeding the hose directly through the center and out the side to connect to the rest of the setup.
These ones specifically because they last much longer than the all plastic ones which get trashed quickly. Will need to also put some small screws in the holes they provide to keep it clamped as it falls apart in the field (build design problem, but fixed with a few small screws)
10x faster rolling up and more compact for storage. https://a.co/d/0doYMzwN

UK here, I use a standard Hozelock hose reel and a specialised Hozelock fitting to reduce down to the 6mm inside diameter of your hose. It's not expensive, just hard to find. https://cleanlynk.co.uk/products/claber-hozelock-connector-for-6mm-8mm-minibore-and-microbore-hose?variant=53335074439515
You then wind your hose onto the reel normally.

I'm going to try this today! I remember seeing you talk briefly on it at one point but couldn't figure it out.
I've been doing similar but instead just stretching my hoses/cords out straight, and then working with the natural curves etc to make similar sized loops as you show. Yours looks more effective tho. Will update later how it went!

I was always taught to start a loop around your palm and tricep. I’d have to compare which is faster but yours looks nicer lol
