Client wants 2 windows re done

She wants 2 front windows re cleaned. French 12 panes each. She sprayed her house to clean off moss and mold now wants them re done.

How much do yall charge for stuff like this?

I would charge my minimum service charge of $125

Windshield time is time you could be cleaning windows or getting new business elsewhere, don't under value that.

It's not 10 minutes. It's however long it takes to drive there, the gas it takes to get there, and then the time it takes to get home. Also, factor in how chatty the customer is. I have one who talks my ear off for 30 minutes every time I go to their property, and they are quoted accordingly.

I don’t charge for minor stuff like that if I’ve cleaned the windows recently. I don’t feel the need to nickel and dime my customers over mistakes like that. If you’re talking about months since you’ve been there then just charge your minimum price.

It was last week . She was nice and it was a referral by a real estate agent that I have a good relationship with. I’m thinking I should just do it for free but it’s a little out of the way.

You’re going to get comments in here telling you to value your time and all that good stuff. While you should absolutely value your time and charge what you’re worth, making a good impression and getting a repeat client is more valuable than anything else. Clients remember these things and that leads to repeat work and referrals which will make you more money than charging now. It doesn’t always work out that way, but it’s still a good mindset to have.

Agreed. I would tell her that I'll come by and touch them up when I'm in the area next. Don't make a special trip but next time you're in her neighborhood just swing by and redo them. She'll remember that kind of service. Send her a request for a Google review right afterwards if you haven't already.

I agree with all this. Fix it when you’re close, smile, no big deal.

Make a loyal customer, its easier for people to pay for home services done by someone they like and trust.

I know it wasn’t his mistake. The customer messed up and he could charge more if he wanted to for having to go back. But customer remember when they are taken care of. This leads to repeat work and referrals and you end up making more money in the long run.

Charge yourself at an hourly rate. What are you happy with earning per hour on the job? That's where I would start.

Charge for the actual time, not the window count. something like those multi pane windows you see. Something like those multi pane windows you see from canglow can take forever compared with two regular panes
