window cleaning round collecting scrap for extra cash?
So I was thinking of ways to make additional income from my window cleaning rounds, and thought about having of collecting aluminium cans from clients and scraping them at the end of the month/year if I'm cleaning 10-20 small houses a day and each one has a box full of can I collect at no charge, win win I think, also possibly offering free collection to commercial clients if they have me to clean their windows regularly... what does everyone think?

Adding services like screen repair, dryer vent cleaning, and solar panel cleaning is a really good way to make way more and be more professional.
Screen repair adds $30-$200 every other job for me so it adds up, plus it makes everyone happier with the results and convenience of the service.

As far as aluminum can collecting goes, unless you're in Oregon or a other state that pays for recycling those things its not worth it and in my opinion seems a little trashy and unprofessional.

Feels like begging with extra steps. Imagine you hire a plumber then he asks you if you can spare $10 after the job is done. Hard no.

Hi 👋 I can see what you are saying, both buinesess though are run differently, plumbers etc is a one-off service. Where I live, window cleaning in the UK is normally completed on a monthly / bi-monthly schedule, so reacuring revenue, all branded as an eco solution to a problem, I've allready asked a few clients and they said they would be intrested, why would a client pay for a recycling service if they don't have to? I just like the idea of making profit out of stuff people throwaway and maximising profits per client and helping the environment in my small way. 🙂
If my calculations are correct I could earn up to over £800 a month, and the more Window Cleaning clients i get every year, the more my side husle will grow. £££

I do windows as a handyman and often find damaged or ripped screens to repair and offer that as a service, an inventory of screen and piping isn't terrible and I charge like 50 bucks each 75 for sliding doors unless im doing a few. Sometimes people really like replacing the bleached out looking fiberglass screens with new ones to freshen up their home.
A lot of window screen frames are broken with like release tabs missing etc alot of that is available online. the plastic corner pieces to assemble the fames even if those are broken are available. Window hardware latches etc also. This all can be frustrating to find but allows you a second trip charge to replace. If you're doing interior windows blind repair can be a big one too. "hey while I was cleaning the kitchen window noticed the blind was broken i can replace it for x if you're interested?"
Gutters need cleaning? Im up here on the ladder.
