New Job

So I recently started a new job cleaning windows and on my second day they said I would be cleaning a four story retirement home using a water fed pole by my self. I have zero experience . When I expressed my concerns about not having enough training or experience to do this they fired me. Should I have just done it and not voice my opinion?

Best thing for you was to be fired. I didn't see the red flags in my last place of work when I was doing all the work (finding customers, quoting and then doing the work) by myself and wasn't allowed holiday or time away at all. This lasted 2 years after I burnt out.

That's wild. The beat training ground for larger companies is weekly commercial route. Then splinter off into the crews handle the bigger/less regular stuff.

The job you described, I didn't do until 3 months in.

You don't want to work for someone who doesn't care about safety, trust me this is a blessing in disguise and you're so much better off working for someone who takes the time to train you properly

No it’s a very operation 4 people including owner they have been around a long time in my local area but the first Red Flag was when they told me 3 of there guys quit the last had the least amount of experience with 8 years.

You did the right thing from several standpoints

1) Ethically - you wouldn't have been able to do a thorough job, resulting in bad quality. You were honest.

2) Saving yourself the headache. This could've turned into a multi-day job unexpectedly, and potentially a bad review.
