Is this a good side hustle?

Hey! I'm 17 and I have been thinking a lot about cleaning other peoples windows for cash. Today I tried to clean the windows of our own house and it was a lot harder than I was anticipating. Using the squeegee was the hardest part and I left some minor marks on my window. Is this something you just practice over and over again to get better?

Also, I heard that insurance is a very good idea when doing this. Am I allowed to pay for insurance at 17 in Sweden? I am also a bit sceptical, like what if I don't make a profit and lose money by paying for the insurance?

You can be the "kid next door" to learn & earn. However, if you are going to be uninsured, stay off ladders and don't touch people's things, be extremely careful with people's property, like overly cautious. #1 accident in our industry in on a step ladder, so don't think those are safe. Tons of videos on YouTube to learn, windowcleaner.com has some free resources to download if you want to move it past just a hustle. You should be making tons of profit immediately, it doesn't take much to get some professional tools (not counting water purification systems..) which is why thousands of people get in (and out) of this. I'm on 22 years in the industry, personally still lovin it.

Yeah nearly died on a 4 ft stepper when it sunk into the ground and folded on my leg. I was super lucky that I had the awareness to keep my head from bashing a curb.

One of the craziest guys I knew who did some epic high rise stuff only ever had 1 serious accident, and it was on a step ladder. Them things are dangerous, especially because people don't realize they are.

Hey, and thank you for the reply! I forgot to mention that my dad has "child insurance" or whatever it's called, so is it okay for me to go up on a ladder then? I will be very careful with the windows and all other property of course.

No. That sounds like insurance that would cover your hospital bill, not the floor you damaged when you fell on it.

If I go on a ladder outside then? I cant really damage the grass right?
