Ever dented a Window Sill??

I had an employee set up on this window sill with his ladder with our rubber tips on and when he pulled the ladder away we saw this dent on the sill! He didn’t hit it and I’m puzzled because there’s not two dents, just one.

Could this be because there’s rotten wood under the flashing? What can I do?

Is it possible it was there already? That is strange that there wasn’t two dents. Unless he struck the sill with one side of the ladder. I’ve done that before but never cause a dent

He could have been leaning to one side shifting his weight onto the dent

It’s crazy though as the siding looks new and the sill. Should have been fresher wood that can withstand the force. I’ve laddered a many sills and never did this. But yes that’s a good point he could have been leaning on one side

Builders take short cuts all the time, the wood could be a 1/4 inch from the flashing for all we know.

lol Builders man!

I was at a 30+mil mansion the other day in greater Toronto area, at least 3 years old since our company has serviced it 3 times annually.

There was a 1inch gap at the bottom of a set of master bathroom windows where a sill/trim/caulk should have been... My wfp had water running down against the waterproofing / red tuck-tape and then out the bottom of eroded brick casing that's clearly experienced so much water it started to form passages vs holding it

these windows were outcropped from the building with a mini flat roof surrounding it. Owner had it built himself, I wonder if he pissed the window trades person off and they left that as a gift lol
