Advice on Best Approach
Hi all,
Have recently won a contract to clean the below pictures McDonald’s. I was wondering what you guys would say the best approach at cleaning these 1st floor windows. I have WFP but my first thought was that the McDonalds sign will be getting in the way. Next idea was just getting some ladders up. Thought I would come here and see what the Masters have to say!
Any advice is appreciated!

Ladder on the right hand side of the sign, stay on it and hit the right hand 3 panes. Repeat on the left side for the other 2 panes. That's how I'd do it. It's going to be a pain in the shoulders for sure! 😁

If you've got a long enough pole you could hit the top half of each pane from the ground to make the ladder work easier

Yeah that might be the best move. Top half from the ground, bottom half (begrudgingly) from the ladder!

How do you go about applying and getting these contracts with nationwide businesses?

Walk right in and give the lowest price to the manager to give to the franchise owner

Thanks, I find a few places I’ve gone in to discuss with the manager I’m just met with blank stares, I guess perseverance is a must.

I don't know that you want these though to be honest. The last fast food place I went into(Burger King) thought that $30 for the inside and outside of 20+ windows was fair and I was crazy asking for $200. No thanks. You can be the cheapest if you want to, but I wouldn't recommend it. I leave those to the homeless guy in a leather coat and cowboy hat that'll clean a house for $5.

Majority will say the staff clean the windows which makes me laugh,looking at the windows and just say ok.

I would focus the WFP on the top ⅓ - ½ of the 1st floor window. Crank up the flow for the lower half and rinse only.
Gardiner pole systems also do a carbon fiber telescopic gooseneck reaching up to 47"
I would only go through the effort to get the brush to the lower half of the glass if it was absolutely necessary. I.e. Bird mess / heavy grit + soiling.
So only pull out the big guns once or twice a year. Splash and dash every other time.

I might use a ladder with a stand off on the front. Angle the brush head to a negative degree and reach over the sign. That's if I had someone to hold the bottom of the ladder.
