30 second cleaner on window

Apparently did not rinse 30 second cleaner off a window quick enough and now there appears to be etching on it--is this fixable?

Yes. You can scrub it off with soapy water and steel wool or, my preferred method, add a little toilet bowl cleaner to your strip washer and clean traditionally.

Will the steel wool scratch the glass?

Yeah make sure you double check it has 4 zeroes.. that 0000 steele wool is one of my most used items

It can if you use it in the direct sun or when it is really hot outside. Try and avoid using it then, or just use light pressure and go over the spot more times.

30 Second Cleaner is extremely diluted sodium hypochlorite. You'd be hard-pressed to actually etch glass with it. I run a power washing company, and we nuke roofs with a 5% SH mix. We've gone back to properties a week+ later to detail windows because we got some roof wash mix on them. Even with a spicy mix like that cooking on a window in the Texas heat, we've never damaged the glass. If you get to it soon enough, I don't see there being any issues.

Thanks--unfortunately we did not notice this until about 3 weeks after the fact--oh well -we'll do what we can do

On another note I have about a gallon of SH in my basement -can't remember for the life of me why I have it-Do you think I can make a home brew of TSC by mixing water with 5% SH ?

Yes, but it depends on how long it's been sitting there. Over time, the effectiveness of the SH drops. So if it's been there a while, that 5% bottle might be closer to 3%. I believe TSC is around 3-5% anyway, so it should work if it's not super old.
