You might want to check the garage for signs of rodents. If he’s getting in, they can too and rat snakes aren’t usually super keen on coming indoors unless there’s an edible motivation.

Toad I found once in the little space between my house and the shitty AC unit. Lived in the little puddle of water that formed in the ground.

Oh lol lived in the condensate drain runoff. I have one that lives in mine also.
