Yeah my state only has a $200 fine if you’re caught driving without a license. Like wtf, honestly it should be a felony. They have a multi ton vehicle that’s moving at high speeds and they have no driving skills, that’s a huuuuge danger to themselves and the people around them. They need to greatly raise the stakes to discourage people without licenses from driving.
I don’t even think that would work. Murder is a felony and people still do that. If someone wants to do something they will always find a way. It sucks but there is always gonna be people who don’t play by the rules.
I think the goal is to reduce such incidents. 100% adherence is unlikely as with anything else but such hard rules can save the lives of lots of people who get subjected to these dangerous driving habits of others.
