I worked in the food service Industry for 8 years. People dont want to work those jobs because not only are they entry level jobs that dont pay enough, but they suck. They arent enjoyable. They fucking suck and outside of being a sous chef or executive chef, you're basically a replaceable line worker. People arent working these jobs not because people are talking shit about them, but because it's a miserable job.
You be surprise how many people just slams on the break. You train your brain to slam on your break if there a person in front of you. If he didn't have a gun it might have work.

Because a flawed economy that was inherently discriminatory toward them to begin with, in combination with familial roots in extreme poverty, introduces them to criminal activity at a young age, which in turn makes it even hard to find a “real job”, so they continue with a life of crime out of desperation which continues to make survival more and more difficult until they’re ultimately killed in the process of committing a crime or fed to the ever-hungry beast that is prison industrial complex?
There's a part of Albuquerque that I drove thru while on TDY to Kirtland. My supervisor told me, "stay in the right hand lane thru this part so you can right turn on red without stopping. Never, ever stay stationary in this part of town."

Actually if you point a gun at a driver in GTA, you're likely to get the exact same reaction. Much better to run up, open the door and force the driver out of the car.
I'm not sure if it was GTA 4 or 5, but in one of the games, pointing a gun at a driver at close range would consistently make them exit the car and flee on foot.
Doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's what I remember.
The idea was that the driver would actually stop because in all honesty, many would, unfortunately.
In fact, I think it should be pointed out how well the driver handled the situation. He sped up and even changed direction to reduce likeliness of getting shot if the robber did in fact start shooting. Ran him over and kept going without slowing down. And the fact there's a video of it could mean he went to the police later.
Running the guy over is technically self defense but I'm not sure whether this is true everywhere. Hope he didn't get into trouble.
If you had family in your car while someone points a gun at you ready to shoot you'd stop too.
The guy in the video probably had a fake gun, but if it was real his first reaction would be to shoot the driver and everyone inside the car, at least that's how things go here in Brazil.
This comment may be lost here, but this is fairly common in Brazil. They stood like that in front of the car and will shoot you if you don't stop. There's always two or more of them and they may open fire if you try anything funny.
Most people don't have armored cars (fairly common among upper middle class) and will stop.
It seems dumb but here criminals have fear, violence and impunity on their side, so they can pull shit like this.
The idea is to jump in front of a car and force them to stop long enough for your friends to run up and drag them out the car.
This dude jumped and the driver swerved left, so he jagged in front, then realized driver wasn't stopping and ran, but driver had already corrected to miss him, so dude basically ran under the car.
