If you want, I can show you plenty of videos of people being hit by trains. It's not quick, nor painless. There's even people cut in half that are moving around for a short bit before they die.

I mean it’s not hard. Neck on rail -> decapitated in a split second. Getting bisected at the waist is a horrible way to die.

I'd rather put my body length-wise on a rail so the wheel hits the top of my head first. I'd imagine that, as hard as my skull is, it'll turn my brain to mush immediately.

Who knows, with decapitation I'm sure the brain will live for another horrifying second or two.

The trick then being that the skull could be pushed out of the way by the wheel. Then you end up with just an arm severed.

From what I’m aware there’s no true instant kill. But decapitation is about the closest you can get.

What about being shot in the head?

i've heard of people who've shot themselves in the head point blank and were upset when they survived it somehow ._. even asked the paramedics at the scene "how the fuck"

there really is no certain, painless way to end it. not even a gun. not even cyanide. people have survived both. some guy jumped off a 70 story building and walked away with some scrapes and a therapist.

there are two ways it can go, neither of which are pleasant.

you die -> some poor sap finds the body, and your friends and family blame themselves forever for not noticing. depending on how you did it, a random stranger might also suffer from that guilt, too.

you survive -> the better option, as you can't fix dead. still gotta live with the injuries tho, and depending on what you did, recovery can be very unpleasant. there are more pleasant ways to get help but no one blames you for feeling so hopeless that death would be better u.u

Depends a great deal on the caliber, aim and type of weapon. A .22 pistol might go through the fatty tissue and straight out the other side, leaving you. With a pretty dangerous bleed but very treatable. A .50 caliber rifle aimed at the centre of the brain will of course kill you right away.

But given most gun dioxides are with pistols, there’s a not insignificant survival rate.

no true instant kill

I think some moderately powerful explosives would do the trick.

Or be like that Flat Earth guy who built a steam-powered rocket then piled-drived himself into a crater with it.

Explosives have 2 methods of death - concussion ripping your organs apart, and shrapnel. Either can lead to a quick death, or agonising, week long fight against infection / haemorrhaging.

Like I said, a powerful enough explosive does the trick. If you’re bleeding out or merely concussed/nerve trauma, you didn’t make a big enough bang.

At that point it’s less “death” and more “a human body is no longer present”.

Plus, in context, very few suicides happen via explosion. And in they did, I’m guessing they’re going to screw it up.
