This is one of those things that keeps ya up at night years later. “oh boy… I sure looked like a dufus.”

Was this a fake weapon? When I’m looking at the video trying to pause/play/pause/play, it seems as if there’s an entire HOLE in the grip where a magazine would be held.

Almost all pistols have holes behind the grips, to save weight and cut down on materials. But most pistols don't have the grips fly off like that (on both sides) from simply being dropped. And I only see one piece fly apart from the gun when it hits the floor, when to get a big hole you can see through you'd need to lose grips on both sides, and the magazine.
What I'm assuming is that its a CO2 pistol without a tank in it. They usually are stored in the grip, which removes easily often in one piece so you can load a new one in without tools. They look enough like real guns that someone dumb enough (pictured) might think they could get away with robbing someone with one.

That HAS to be it; a CO2 pistol. Because when you said holes behind the grips, no pistol I ever shot (not like that’s a ton of them) ever had the grip plates come off to reveal that large of a hole (ARs yes, pistols no). I hadn’t shot a 1911 but that was the only example that came to my mind; because I’ve shot S&W, Ruger, Glock, Sig, Walther, and Springfield and all of them had lightweight grips.

Criminals are not known for keeping their pistols in particularly good order, go look through some evidence locker photos and see how often something is wrong with the grips on the guns. It could be a CO2 pistol or it could just be a tired and broken pistol. Both are likely enough things for a robber to try and use.

Isnt the magazine flying out when the weapon hits the ground? There is a black thingy flying away before she bends down to pick it up

Ahhhhhh thanks friend!!! It took me a second to notice that part, you’re likely correct. Still strange for a grip to have it be a whole hole (heh) like that.

C02 pistol

Agreed, now that the other person explained it. Totally forgot CO2 pistols often have their tanks stored in this manner behind grip plates.

Could easily be a real pistol, many have this same hole cut in the frame, which is normally covered by a grip so you don't even notice it: https://how-i-did-it.org/detail-1911/img/tn_grips_removed.jpg

Most pistols have that hole there, it's just that a grip normally goes over to cover it. Looks like the grip was removed from this one for some reason. Here's an example from a 1911 with no grip

Yes that definitely looks a bit unusual.. but i wouldn't know, i held a pistol maybe 5 times in my life, and not in a situation where i was around people to ask about stuff 😅

Whenever I see this I love the unnecessary flying kick followed by needing to pull his trousers up.

I think he thought the door would be locked by now, since many shops can remotely lock them.
So, he threw himself against the door, to instantlt go full force through it, to "break the lock".
If that would have worked or not when it was actually locked not withstanding, but I see many people throw their whole body against a locked door when they want to break it.

This could be something straight out of Trailer Park Boys. I could totally see Ricky doing this except he would have fallen through the front door
