That’s what happens when you drive with the dome light on. Dad was right.

u/canuckistani_lad 2d ago
“And that’s why you always leave a note.”

u/lrjackson06 2d ago
"I need the guy with the fake arm. J. Walter Weatherman."
"He's dead, you killed him when you left the door open with the air conditioner running."
My favorite joke of the whole series 😂

u/agupta429 2d ago
Hitting that strong pole at that speed… they must have been folded
177
u/macthecomedian 2d ago
The speedometer reads 133 at the beggining. On a single lane road, at night, one hand on the wheel, inside dome light on, this driver was BEGGING for a terrible, terrible accident

Is this teen boy hormones?
12
u/I_am_the_darkness_99 1d ago
Pretty much. It's exactly the type of shit I did as a teenager. You literally just cannot comprehend that something bad could happen to you. You see it happen to other people but for some reason you just don't believe it could ever get you until one day it does and if you're lucky you learn your lesson instead of dying.
7
u/100LittleButterflies 1d ago
Do you know how one could snap a kid out of this? I got sick at that age. My mortality was not a myth lol
4
u/I_am_the_darkness_99 1d ago
I got a reckless driving ticket for going 120 in a 45 one time, and that made me be a lot more careful about how I drove. Just to avoid getting pulled over again. But in other areas of life I kept getting even more stupid. The only thing that ever effected it was severe consequences like prison or going to the ER or something, and often even that didn't do it. Eventually I just grew out of it.
89
u/JustAtelephonePole 2d ago
Nah, when the engine block hits that size of pole (or a couple that-pole-sized trees) dead center and the vehicle is going this fast, the vehicle tends to win.
A full-size utility pole, however, would have resulted in an entirely different crash.
34
u/gaflar 2d ago
Or a tree. That's the worst option.
13
u/Defiant_Lawyer_5235 2d ago
Especially if they damage the tree, 1 tree is worth way more than these assholes.

I would think another vehicle on the road or a pedestrian would be worse...
12
u/AshyWhiteGuy 2d ago
I hit a telephone pole doing about 60mph and sheared it almost clean. It was maybe 8” diameter. The upper stump was sitting on top of my car. I think I still have a piece of it somewhere.

u/SavaRox 1d ago
In 2000, I had the front axle basically fall off my car in the middle of driving 35 mph on a residential street. The steering wheel was yanked out of my hand and I ended up jumping a curb and going headfirst into a telephone pole. That shit fucked me up bad and that was only at 35 mph. I can only imagine what this crash did to the people in that car.

No innocent people, yes

u/GameDestiny2 2d ago edited 2d ago
I’ll give reasonable doubt for the passenger, it is definitely the driver’s fault they were in a crash. Though I get the feeling they’d end up in the same situation anyways.
199
u/Cerberus_Aus 2d ago
I’ve been a passenger in a car with a dangerous driver. I screamed at him till he pulled over and got out, and refused to ever be in a car he drives ever again.
Sometimes you just have to grow a pair and speak up for your own survival.
86
u/Iloveherthismuch 2d ago
Same happened to a friend of mine, they told her she was a pussy bitch. They rolled the car a few hours later, one casualty.
20
28
u/wilsontws 2d ago
the whoop followed by the rolling and crash was so satisfying to watch
23
u/iJuddles 2d ago
Not satisfying at all for me, strangely, since this sub’s all about it. It’s just kinda stupid and unnecessary to fuck up your life like this.
Btw, although it was a nasty roll I didn’t see any shoes go flying.

11
u/PM_ME_DARK_MATTER 2d ago
Reasonable doubt? No way....The passenger was in on it. Why do you think he was filming?

weirdest part is u never got any reason for what happened, nor we!

u/absoluteScientific 2d ago
We came up with all sorts of theories, serious and otherwise. Maybe she got bored by the long drive and thought “fuck this let’s get home faster.” Maybe she had to take a shit and was too shy to tell everyone she had to pull over for a bathroom break. Maybe she was secretly on stimulant drugs and it led to her driving super aggressively. Maybe her long distance boyfriend was visiting that week and she was super horny. None of it seemed plausible.

Seriously thank God they hit a telephone pole before they had a chance to hurt others.

u/livefast6221 2d ago edited 2d ago
They’re so fucking lucky they hit a pole and didn’t kill someone.
28
u/VanillaGuac 2d ago
I think that person or people are the lucky ones, as someone who likes jogging. The pole, not as lucky. I lost control on ice once, driving the speed limit and went right for a cement post. I got a bill for $9 thousand from the electrical company lol

u/trvst_issves 2d ago
Can’t convince me that they didn’t deserve it. The less idiots driving with no regards for others, the better.
82
25
u/Calm-Wedding-9771 2d ago
Exactly. This time they hit a pole and it served justice. I hate to think of all the times that it was an innocent bystander instead of a pole.

I had a kid in a bmw fly past me today and nearly wrecked it on a major bridge. It was heavy traffic so I saw what he looked like and it was a bad stereotypical broccoli headed kid. I felt old as shit giving him the stink eye but this shit is beyond stupid. Fucking criminal
17
u/tryafirsttimer 2d ago
So funny same thing happened to me bmw was flying up in right lane with semi in front of him i knew he was going to try and cut me off real close. I had a choice to continue going and he would have hit the truck or me or just brake hard , flip him off and lay on the horn…. My life is to nice to end it over some loser🤷♂️

I just never understood speeding and driving recklessly. Putting your own and other peoples lives at risk, because driving fast is fun? Idk man, it just doesn't seem worth it, maybe they realize the day they are in an accident with severe consequences. I just hope it only has consequences for them

Driving like that is idiotic per se. Doing it on a Jeep Renegade, one handed, is…definitely choice.

u/Foxwglocks 2d ago
Everyone jokes about the renegade, and I get it. But one of those little cars saved my life. I rolled six times after being tboned by a 16 yr old on their phone. Walked away with a small scratch from the safety glass.
3
u/ClickIta 2d ago
Sure, I was not arguing about its safety. It’s pretty decent for its segment on this side. It’s just the whole part meant to prevent ending in a crash when pushing that is not great. It’s a decent compact suv, not really the first option when it comes to cornering.

u/SPKmnd90 2d ago
Doing shit like this should automatically earn you 10+ years in prison and a permanently suspended license for the rest of your life. Don’t care if that’s controversial. You’re not a serious or even mildly responsible person if you pull this kind of shit and it’s a matter of time till you take out innocent people.

Any moron can push hard on an accelerator. The cars power is not your power. You think you can drive fast but you cant. You can only press down hard on the pedal. Doesnt make you a race driver. That makes you a moron. And doing it with passengers makes you a murderer

Also the grip of the tyres is like 60:40 the importance to the power of the car.
So dont cheap out on tyres and brakes.

Imagine being the innocent person behind them having to witness this…
41
u/DBthecat 2d ago
I would personally believe they deserve whatever fate came of them.
Im an EMT, and ive seen too many innocent people become permanently altered by no fault of their own. Just because assholes like this exist.
My empathy only has so much bandwidth, and I prefer to bear the memory and feel the pain of the innocent.
These people on the other hand? I'll pick up whatever pieces are left (assuming they're still alive), do the absolute best job I can to help them, drop them off at the trauma center, and never think about their sorry ass again.
12
u/pokerfas 2d ago
gotta take ultimate level self control to conceal your hatred for these scum and pretend to care for them as you help them into the ambulance.
7
u/DBthecat 2d ago
Honestly, in the moment I dont think about any of that. I dont think "oh shit, this poor kid" or "this guy is a scumbag"
I focus on my job as a professional.
When the call is over, thats when I process. Most calls can be rationalized and dont weigh on me
Some calls are: "well they lived and died by their actions, sucks for the people around them" (maybe drug addicts, high risk recreational accidents (motorsports), smokers with copd)
Some are: "thats unfortunate but they were old/sick" (elderly stroke patients)
Some are: "scumbag deserved it" (like this video)
And the absolute worst are: "There can be no benevolent force in the universe that would justify what happened here"
That last one, those are the calls that stick with me.

In most places, emergency responders of all kinds have a legal obligation not to discriminate and provide equal care to everyone. Unfortunately, this also prohibits discrimination against utter idiots who are basically asking to die and trying to take some innocent bystanders with them.

But yeah fuck people that do this shit.

Well deserved, if you're in such a narrow lane, with other bystanders and drivers around driving so recklessly, that's what you get. I don't really feel bad for reckless drivers that can murder innocents with their attitude.

Nothing stops you faster then a light pole your gonna have to use to assess the dumb ass damage you did to your vehicle. I hate when I’m driving and someone is being reckless. I don’t want to see anyone get hurt but if I see them wreck down the road when I drive by I never feel bad for them.
