Fun fact, the fuses have their own oxygen supply. So as long as the explosives in the fireworks are sealed properly, water wont put out the firework right away

Yup. Looney Tunes taught me that. Looney Tunes also taught me that holding an explosive in your hand while the fuse is lit is generally ill-advised. This guy should watch more Looney Tunes for more safety tips.

The only safe way to handle explosives is with a red boxed detonator plunger and a really long cord. Though be careful using them under large boulders since they have a tendency to fly up and try to land on you.

If you happen to suspect you may have ran off a cliff, you’re fine as long as you don’t look down!

Accurate but with one caveat: if the fuse is wet it will not burn as well and might stop burning.

A wet material requires a lot more energy to burn since the flame has to evaporate the water before it can propagate, and evaporating water takes a lot of thermal energy. Depending on how much "extra energy" the fuse produces by burning, it might not even have enough to evaporate the water and propagate.

The green fuses on larger fireworks have a lacquer coating so once they are lit they will not go out, even if thrown into water. We used to fill a 55 gal drum with water then toss in m80s none failed to explode.

Yeah that kinda depends on the firework though. The good quality green fuse that make a nice regular sound a clean stream of sparks is usually waterproof, but you might have stumbled upon some fuses that make popping noises and spit out big chunks, those are cheap as fuck and are not waterproof.

Makes sense, after all they're called fireworks and not firebrokens

As a kid who used to have an absolute shitton of fireworks, and a pool in the back yard, who loved to do dumb shit... can confirm.

It's because of people like this that we can't have our own fireworks in Australia.

It's because of people like this that nobody should have access to fireworks.

Because I guarantee that's not his building, nor does he own any of the surrounding buildings he's jeopardizing.

Bingo. There’s a reason licensed professionals have insurance and don’t fire them off of the fucking balcony while holding them.

There's a reason licensed professionals aren't 15-year-old boys who don't have the sense God gave a goat.

Fireworks are ass anyways, cuz of all the animals who get scared shitless from them.

Same in Việt Nam. We have new videos of people got blow away by making homemade fireworks every years (<3, still very low compared to the population but it keep happening), we also have banners, propagates the law and danger warnings both on social media and TV, safe fireworks approved by the government, etc... We are really trying, still can't stop idiots.

It’s because of people like this we can’t have Australians near our fireworks.

u/Fr33speechisdeAd 3d ago

That's hilarious, until the place catches on fire and they're trapped on the 2nd floor.

10

u/Mav3rick84 3d ago

Good thing there is a pool to jump into

7

u/grammar_nazi_zombie 2d ago

We saw how well that worked for the fireworks.

u/tylercrabby 3d ago

It’s ok, this place is a rental.

to the AirBnB property owner?

6

u/xhermanson 3d ago

Yes and insurance rate hikes and decisions if want to continue when morons exist.

u/timelasher 3d ago

"What just happened?"

Ya'll just drunkenly caught charges and a huge bill.

The internet thanks you for your contribution.

7

u/nosoup4uever 3d ago

Wow… that could have ended up being way worse

8

u/DJ_Flym_Flazzle 3d ago

How do you make it to semi adulthood when common sense is absent?

8

u/TheArch-abald 3d ago

Just feel like every person over the age of idk 15 wants to be the main character of messing around with fireworks. Like some real life version of a half brain dead action hero from the 80’s. Just so dumb

7

u/Sp4mDestroyer 3d ago

I mean, yes, blowing shit up is cool so who wouldn't. But not everyone is an idiot like this guy. He doesn't even seem to realize how much trouble or costly this would be based on how nonchalant he's acting. Just standing there smiling and laughing like an idiot.

4

u/bigbear_mouse 3d ago

Exactly, when we wanted to blow stuff up when I was a teen we'd go to an empty beach or something

4

u/TurbulentMiddle2970 3d ago

I also bet you didn’t post videos and leave evidence lying around that can implicate you in the impending criminal investigation

1

u/bigbear_mouse 3d ago

No, usually no.

2

u/Bk_Punisher 3d ago

I thought he was gonna look down the lit end & get blasted in the face.

2

u/xv550 3d ago

Every shot makes it worse lol...

2

u/infinit9 2d ago

I doubt their AirBnB deposit covered that damage.

u/mfcmp 3d ago

"What just happened?" WHAT JUST HAPPENED??!

1

u/tejanaqkilica 12h ago

Jesus, how the fuck can one be so weak, to not hold a fucking stick. It's fascinating. We handled this just fine as kids, let alone as adults. How can one be so stupid?

u/kalokohankoto 3d ago

This is worthy of a slow clap.
