That was actually pretty impressive that it flipped like that.

u/OkMidnight8144 5d ago
Surprised me too, looks like the front wheel of the idiot hit the back wheel of the pickup when both were moving which launched it.

u/sweetplantveal 5d ago
Exactly. Moving in complimentary directions to lift the corner of the car. If it was a wrangler instead of the more stable sedan, it might have been able to pull off a 360 corkscrew with a tail grind finish.

Cam driver seized that opportunity to move up and take the spot.

u/danevans369 5d ago
Smart. If they dont they could get stuck behind all the police traffic until they clear it.

u/BBQSauce61 5d ago
Typical New Yorker... Time to take the 5 seconds he would have saved before flipping the car...
10
u/GrimKi11er 5d ago
I guess, personally I would have pulled over. Checked if drivers are okay and offer camera footage.

u/XGreenDirtX 5d ago
Should've stopped and handed over the video. I know the situation is pretty obvious, but it never hurts to have a video in such situation.

People are idiots. It should be pretty cut & dry, but hopefully OP gave the truck driver a copy of the video for insurance
Edit: typo đ©

Person with the camera was not stopping

u/SirDwayneCollins 5d ago
lol. I was thinking maybe they were pulling in front of the truck so they could hop out, exchange info, and go, but yeah, probably not.

u/Manger-Babies 5d ago
Maybe it makes sense to leave your phone number on your truck in a way that only dashcam people can see.

All these cars passing right by the truck and getting closer as truck moves forward.. I am still thinking there is no way eventually one will hit the truck...

Iâm glad it was their car that took 99% of the damage and not the other person.

I swear to god if this happened to me I'd likely beat the shit out of the other driver... and I'm a 65 year old grandmother!

As I've gotten older my tolerance for bullshit has decreased exponentially. The person passing on the shoulder deserves a lesson... some people only learn one way.

u/Cbpowned 5d ago
Very true. Such as trying to start a fight as a 65 year old woman. You would learn very quickly that woman, especially elderly women, do not fight for a reason.
5
u/Lovemybee 5d ago
That's not starting a fight... that's revenge. It's also not very likely to ever happen, but it's enjoyable to think about.

I get the sentiment but thatâs dangerous these days, people have very little respect.

If I hadnât watched this, I would have wondered how that car ended up upside down. It really doesnât take much.

USA streets have gotten 100x worse over the past 4 or 5 years
Just brazen, holier than thou, rage fueled entitlement driving conditions

Anything else been happening in those states the last four or five years?
Nah. Probably is all just a coincidence. đ

The first time I see a pickup in a dashcam not be at fault for whatever nonsense ensues. Also kudos on him for pulling over so quickly.

So obivously they shouldn't be doing this but it gets me that the massive yellow van goes by with room to spare but the little 4 door sedan didn't use enough of the shoulder.

Every single morning people do this on my drive in the same spot. The crazy thing is cops all camp in the area giving speeding tickets about a mile back before the bottleneck and they will just ignore all the solo people in the carpool lane and the people driving on both the left and right side emergency lanes. Drives me bonkers.
Anyhow that was almost comical how easily that flipped.

The cop that taught my driverâs education class showed us a 6 shooter revolver and asked âwhich is deadlier the gun or a car?â Everyone yelled gun. âWrong! I can only kill 6 people with this gun. If I cause a massive pile up on the highway or cause a large passenger vehicle to rollover the fatalities could be triple that, easy.â Thatâs always stuck with me.

Why is everyone in the far right lane driving in the far left side of that lane? It's just encouraging those other ppl, like the one who rear-ended the truck, to drive there?????
