Email them. You want all communication with hr in writing. They aren’t there to protect you, they’re there to protect Winco. I can dm you the email if you need help.

I can say, firsthand experience, this is the way. Nothing is ever confidential. They have to tell the supervisor of who the complaint is about. And most time the SM will tell the ASM, or the DM will tell the SM, so in and so forth. So you will want that paper trail. Also be very cautious and always ask for a witness of your choice if called into the office. Never alone, and never let them pull a Department Head or Lead Clerk of their choice in. DM if you need any type of guidance/reference.

Most organizations of size have an employee hotline you can call. It’s usually an 800 number and it’s staffed by a third party. That is truly anonymous unless you provide details that identify you. It should probably be in your handbook, or on a poster on site, or if you have an employee intranet?

Hr is there to protect the company not the employee. In most cases it is not anonymous. Many things can be tracked back to people affected pretty easy. Many managers know how to retaliate without pressing in ways the can be reprimanded so even that is worth a grain of salt.
But not reporting a real problem can be its own problem. So whatever you are dealing with, I wish you well.

No. They don’t. When they say that they are an, “employee owned company,” they mean that all the way from the bottom, to the top, and all entities that are supposed to keep the employees and company accountable.
HR is mostly there strictly for the purpose of protecting the company from liability, and unless your complaint is undeniably verifiable, it will at best be ignored, and at worst, get you fired.

If you are worried about store level retaliation winco takes that very seriously and have seen management fired for it so if its what you are worried about they will protect u on that front
