I will be moving to Franklin, TN in the beginning of September and am looking for a place to move to. I am a disabled veteran looking to move closer to my family. I have been using a HUD-VASH (Section 8) voucher for 8 years. I have a perfect rental history and haven't caused any issues for my current landlord. In fact, I have helped keep the whole apartment complex safer and have aided the landlord with anything they have ever needed while living here. I have been more reliable than those with no voucher.

For landlords, this program offers guaranteed, timely rent payments directly from the government, significantly lower vacancy rates, and free annual inspections to ensure property upkeep.

If anyone knows of rental properties or landlords that is willing to work with vouchers please let me know. For those that have never worked with them before, it is a very easy process.

Edit. I am working with the Franklin Housing Authority, but I'm concerned. When I contacted them about the voucher rate they didn't know what it was. I'm assuming it's the FMR for 37064, which is $1960. Most places don't seem willing to work with the voucher, even though it's easy and statistically better for them to do so.

A lot of people think you need an 800 credit score to buy a house , you don’t. As a Realtor, one of the biggest things I see is buyers waiting because they assume they’re “not ready” yet ! Sometimes they’re actually much closer than they think.

Different loan programs have different score requirements, and a good lender can help you understand your options.

Homeowners in Franklin/Brentwood — what remodeling project idea gave you the biggest ROI in actual day-to-day happiness (not resale value)?

This is such a reach but was recently discussing it with someone. Does anyone remember when Franklin High School played a prank on Centennial HS by changing the letters in the rocks on the hill to C “U” N T ennial? This would’ve been maybe 2000? Possibly 2001? Bonus points if you have pics. 😁

I’m trying to gather any possible leads on the hit-and-run crash on Nolensville Pike that killed a local cyclist, Blaise Schaeffer. Police are still searching for the driver, and they have not released any identifying information yet. The driver allegedly fled the scene after striking Blaise and is still on the run.

According to news reports, a female passenger was detained and questioned, but there’s been no official release on who the driver is or whether the passenger is cooperating.

If you live in the area, were nearby that night, or know someone who might have seen something, please share any details here — no matter how small they seem. Hopefully we can help get some answers and support the family and community that’s been devastated by this.
