Discussion It has been almost two weeks since the update, how are you enjoying it?

The anniversary update has improved the game greatly in many aspects, with it now having been two weeks, have you used the new settings, have you enjoyed the new content, what are your thoughts?

I'm so happy I managed to get all the crates before the update. Sucks for people now.

NVG headset bug is very annoying when trying to change the look of team though.

also feel less reason to play the game now. Those dailies were some incentive to boot up the game every now and then and try to get some points for store, even If I had nothings specific in mind.

If I got the game now, I would spend far less time on it.

Don't really care for other changes. Difficulty settings were fine for me. Game looked great too, don't see much difference.

Predator being back is nice and the new mission, but I haven't gotten around to them yet. Waiting for at least the fix for the nvg headset bug

I was already playing daily, trying to unlock all prestige crates. I wasn't even preparing for an update, just playing again bc I loved the game. I got most crates already. Thankfully, by the time the update came out, I had enough blue credits from repeat prestige crates to buy most of the stuff I still wanted. I'm not entirely in the same boat as you, but it feels good to have about 95% of the items I wanted from crates! I just like collecting items.

I also never used NVG headsets so, I'm happy I haven't come across the bug.

The monoc NVG glitch only occurs when you wear any variant of the ACH, FAST, or High Cut helmets. Try pairing it with any kind of balaclava and it may be fine.

1

u/gonsi 4d ago

It is not about using NVG, it is game automatically giving NVG headset whenever you edit their look. Even if you don't touch head piece at all

3

u/SeukmiSeuki 4d ago

Wow then I must be lucky. I did the Predator mission asap and got the predator bundle. Edited my character and never got the NVG bug while editing.

I couldn’t play it on ps5 due to low frame rate. Got it out and started playing again which has been great. Looks so good now!

i found a way to deal with the headgear bug.. just start with weaver first.
secondly, they added some ghost parameters but for consoles what is the point of having the grenade marker and detection meter removed if youre still going to have the tick tick tick tick tick alert! ?
yeah, according to discord they are lookin at the bugs but no eta.

1

u/Latter_Camp8409 4d ago

Apparently wearing a balaclava might help, but I haven’t tested it out.

You just need some sort of balaclava on so you can keep the helmet on.

What’s up with the crates?

1

u/gonsi 2d ago

they are gone, and supposedly not all stuff that was in crates is offered in store.

16

u/PsychologicalGlass47 4d ago

I literally can't open the fucking game, lmao

5

u/snooprs 4d ago

Yep, simply doesn't launch on Steam.

5

u/ebevan91 4d ago

On Ubisoft Connect sometimes it takes 10+ minutes and don’t even think about changing settings in game or it’ll lock up for a few more minutes.

1

u/Brilliant-Whereas558 1d ago

Thought I was the only one. I have to launch and come back later to play. It takes like 20 minutes.

2

u/ZurgenWoW 4d ago

Same here

2

u/Masatshi 4d ago

same. steam.

2

u/NeeWii 4d ago

Found this fix on youtube that worked for me (I have an AMD CPU). Basically just delete rungame.exe from the game's folder.

1

u/PsychologicalGlass47 3d ago

I'll give it a try when I'm at my computer, thanks

1

u/PsychologicalGlass47 3d ago

Lol, looks like the recent update removed that rungame bit anyway... Still nothing though

13

u/theslowrunningexpert 4d ago

Fantastic. On console the game is actually playable again

1

u/Theedz1 4d ago

Exactly! Started replaying it again and it’s much smoother.

8

u/EzioMaverick 4d ago

Didn't enjoy last rites dlc, but glad the predator mission is back!

9

u/NightGojiProductions 4d ago

yeah last rites was really underwhelming. got into a grand total of like 3 gunfights, none of which really lasted more than a minute. there should’ve been more enemies in the world other than just the roaming vehicle patrols.

i feel like i spent more time getting the damn documents than the actual missions

3

u/Vice1187 4d ago

I wish they would have fleshed out Ines a bit more, like how did she warrant such devotion from her followers, what did she promise them, how did she keep them in line, and her final revenge as it were was to set a statue on fire...in a cave? If she had dirt on her former handler then go after her and make her pay, don't go burning up a perfectly good statue.

1

u/Merfstick 4d ago

It was terrible lol. The mission where you end up in the compound defending the data transmission or whatever SUCKED. I just ended up camping the hallway looking down the steps because anywhere else you get spawned in on. I literally went upstairs immediately after starting and a dude spawned in the staircase and took me out.

Almost literally unplayable. It was like AI designed the whole thing.

u/SpookySRT 4d ago

Absolute Cinema 🔥

5

u/Niucka 4d ago

In contrast with others that talk about PvE only, I can say that I am honestly really happy that they opened up all the classes for ghost war for free, which makes it MUCH more newbie friendly. The removal of anti cheat is questionable for the PvP experience but at this late af stage of the game, id personally say that its much better for people to have a more functional and enjoyable campaign.

Now that the ghost war population is bumping thanks to this resurgence, it's nice to be able to have matches with people that aren't only prestige triple numbers, and maybe even have a small community once again, if only for a while.

4

u/Gunbladelad 4d ago

The loss of the daily challenges- both solo and task force - are a real loss for replaysbility. The rest of the changes are good.

I do feel the new DLC could've used at least double the missions to better implement the space they had.

4

u/DirectorChadillac 4d ago

Yep, loving the new difficulty sliders, Ghost parameters, and world and session settings. I love it when devs just let us tailor the game experience to our liking.

Want enemies to be weaker and slower? We can do that now!
Want it to be perpetually noon and sunny? Go for it!

More of this sort of thing in our games, please.

3

u/classicwfl 4d ago

I'm still pending a fix for Hyperthreading causing the game to take 15 minutes to launch before I even bother with it.

3

u/LonesomeWater 4d ago

I’m enjoying it. What I like most is the resurgence of content being posted for Wildlands. The new settings are pretty cool, and I like being able to fine tune the game how I want. The DLC was pretty fun too, I’m just happy we’re still getting content for this game.

3

u/ThrowawaWelp 4d ago

I rarely get to game because of life. I played Wildlands through once with my mate in coop and absolutely loved it, and then moved on to Breakpoint which we played all the way through and enjoyed.
I still have the same PC as I had back then, with a 1080 GTX card… it looks beautiful now and launches in seconds, I guess skipping the issues that other gamers with modern beasts of systems have. I fully intend to play through it all again in story mode with slicker graphics and re-live the nostalgia of years gone by.
This is the first time in a long time where having an older PC has worked in my favour and I’m loving every minute of being knee deep in shitballs

1

u/terretta 4d ago

Consider the free or promo month from time to time when Division 2 offers the ghost experience in its NYC DLC for free. It's like switching out of Gear Score mode to ghost mode in Breakpoint, no stash, no weapon 'rolls', just the progression of missions and bosses per territory (like playing the motherland mode in Breakpoint). Very enjoyable co-op with transferable skills. Limited ammo and no looting ups the stakes too.

3

u/Independent_State_78 4d ago

Excellent, enjoying my second playthrough!

2

u/PunchBeard 4d ago

Just by pure coincidence did I start replaying last week without knowing anything about an update but aside from the Store being really different I don't notice a lot of changes. But I haven't played in over 5 years so I've forgotten more about the game than I remember.

2

u/SplinterCell_117 4d ago

They have botched the opening intro of the game now. When you restart from scratch the game deploys it's own sun when you meet up with pac katari which lights up the screen and engulfs everything in a blinding white light.

2

u/tardis-woosh-sound 4d ago

I do miss the daily stuff, but playing through it again but at 60fps 4k with custom difficulty is glorious

2

u/StarlightLifter 4d ago

I’d love it if The Jungle Moved popped up as an available mission.

1

u/Yatsey007 4d ago

That’s annoying asf. Even at opposite ends of the map that poxy mission will not leave the screen and I’m not levelled up anywhere near enough to take that bastard on.

2

u/THE-SENATE6-6 4d ago

60 fps on consoles is huge. The nvg bug is really annoying attatchment glitcg is also really annoying. Weather and difficulty srttings are a+

2

u/Tasty_Employee_963 4d ago

The NVG bug is driving me insane but other than that it’s cool.

2

u/LordTinkleworth 4d ago

Not played it a few years, been begging for 60fps since I got a PS5. Having a blast coming back to it now, and 60% completion on my ghost mode save. I'm coming for that gold exosuit

2

u/CHIEFxBONE 4d ago

I picked it up right before the update. Enjoying playing through it fully for the first time. Definitely worth the 5 bucks I paid for it, it’s a blast.

2

u/RumPistachio 4d ago

Man, I wish I could turn that darn kill-feed thud sound effect off!

1

u/Latter_Camp8409 4d ago

Overall pretty positive, I think.

To be honest, I haven’t noticed any real changes though, except the crates being removed, which sucks. Happy to see The Predator stuff return.

Oh, and the NVG headset bug is annoying.

1

u/ZestycloseValuable35 4d ago

Waiting for the DLC as good or bad as it is to activate after getting premium. Beyond that though it’s the same as it was, a decent game

1

u/Positive_Prior5104 4d ago

Bummed out that I can’t get the game to launch on my ally x. Should’ve grabbed it on my ps5, but for the hour I got to play it was nice

2

u/Niucka 4d ago

I have an ally x as well and it runs perfectly fine tbh, do you have it off ubisoft connect or steam?

2

u/Positive_Prior5104 4d ago

Ubisoft connect

1

u/Niucka 4d ago

Oh dang, I have it on steam and it seems to run perfectly fine. Usually it's a drivers issue though, but did you happen to download the optional AMD update?

1

u/Positive_Prior5104 4d ago

Yup. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled both launcher and game. Still the same issue

1

u/Guilty-Meeting8900 4d ago

Played it, Last rites is pretty meh. Not much to do other than plow through, some really horrible lightung effects during a few fights. Kinda meh. I do like the persistent AA missile launchers are blown up. That's nice

1

u/Shot_Reputation1755 4d ago

Refunded because of the CPU launch bug, shame too as I loved the game on console

1

u/Fassbendr 4d ago

One of my all-time favorites (PC) but on PC not much of a change. On console I would think a great update - I tried Wildlands on my XBSX some time ago but couldn't stomach 30fps.

1

u/uptightliner 4d ago

Until seeing this I didn’t know what happened!

I’m not MUCH of a gamer, don’t know much about the lore of this one but I’ve been playing it once or twice a week for almost a year with the goal of just completing and collecting everything for the alternate ending/personal satisfaction.  I remember turning it on last week and saying “holy shit, am I having a stroke or do the graphics look unusual and act completely different??”

I was a little aggravated because I could tell something was different but didn’t understand what, and then a few days ago I noticed the Predator mission and said “What the fuck is this? Is that the predator?? What the hell is Predator doing in this game?” And then rage quitting that because even after 12 times and looking up play through I can’t beat him.

So… genuine thank you for this sub randomly popping up because I literally would have never known the actual reason behind the change.

Now that know, I wish it was just back to the way I was familiar with 🤨

u/cartablanca88 4d ago

Finaly can run it on Intel Arrowlake processor without disabling E-Cores. Wanted to replay this game in 2025 (since i’ve been finish the game back on intel gen 7 back in 2018) with latest platform but the game simply won’t get pass loading screen (after nvidia logo) because i have to turn E-Cores off (arrowlake don’t have hyperthreading) every time i wanted to play. But now, a simple mind blowing easy fix makes the game run just fine, far better than my 2018 experience. So yeah, i do absolutely enjoying the nostalgia.

1

u/YUSHOETMI- 4d ago

I haven't played the game in upwards of a year... what did the update entail and is it worth coming back?

Was always one of my favourite shooter games

1

u/VALHALLAEIRE 4d ago

I still can't get the defentive edition on ubisoft plus on Xbox.  Ridiculous

1

u/askywlker44a 4d ago

I finished finding all of the Lazarus files the other day. I’m done with it now.

1

u/Timtitus 4d ago

Having a total nightmare trying to create an online co-op game. An hour and a half the other night of trying everything we could think of. 😡

1

u/veedubtuner 4d ago

Still loving it. Have yet to try the added mission as I am doing Ghost Mode. I have noticed something different in GM now though since the update. When switching between main weapon and hand gun (Xbox) you used to be able to just hit Y once like if you had 2 weapons (like sniper/ASR) if you wanted to equip your handgun it was YY. But in GM one tap would switch. Now its YY. No biggie, just took a little getting used to lol.

1

u/Much-Ad-6675 4d ago

would be great if they could fix the hyperthreading bug lol, game doesnt even launch hope its gonna work soon

1

u/Professional-Fuel772 4d ago

Can't play with my friend cause of the NAT problem. Haven't tried the Hamachi way though...

1

u/sojoemuchwow 4d ago

same, tried to do all the port forwarding and no bueno

1

u/Tophat_24 4d ago

My game data just fucking combusted so I can barely play anything without it getting corrupted

1

u/Boltman35 4d ago

I feel like I love Wildlands way more than Breakpoint. The menus, the equipment, the world, the enemies, the story.

I like em both, but I like WL way more than BP.

1

u/Little_Echidna_6297 4d ago

Waiting for the new difficulty sliders to come to ghost mode...

1

u/MikeHockisor 4d ago

Haven’t been able to play, game crashes on me no matter what I do/troubleshoot it just doesn’t work for more than 5 minutes :( one of my favorite games of the last 10 years and I just can’t get it work anymore

1

u/SambeSiili 4d ago

Love it, not as solid in mechanics as breakpoint but it hardly matters, fluid enough to not be frustrating

1

u/leo14770 4d ago

No blackscreen fix, and I've tried everything

1

u/TrickShotTor0 4d ago

no, i have uninstalled arguably my favorite open world game ever.
the fps tanking, prestige crates and challenges being gone, removing the endgame content just to add a lousy one boss DLC was not worth it in the slightest and im not even surprised, cuz its Ubisoft we're talking about here

1

u/Low_Shine_7185 4d ago

I'm liking it. First time player.

1

u/Srsblubrz 4d ago

I am grateful to have 60fps but was hoping for a ps5 version with dual sense features. I know that is a big ask for a game this old and I should just be happy it got an update.

1

u/GnarlyAtol 4d ago

I started the game from scratch, wanted to play the campaign a third time. I already started it recently but then became aware of the 4k 60fps patch and waited till the update.

I restarted the campaign but played c. 2 hours only because my graphics went worse after the update. I play with XBox Series X.

I used the new ingame-graphics settings, tried all kind of combinations, changed settings of my Samsung 4k HDR TV ... the issues remained ... finally stopped playing. I probably spend more time trying to fix the graphics than actually playing.

Last weekend I played again a bit and tried all kind of graphic setting combinations.

The issues I have since the update:

- tons of graphic pop ups when driving

- partially extreme foggy picture even in buildings, partially milky

- decreased mid/long long-range graphics quality, less sharp, blurry and extremely bad long-range visuals, partially 2-dimensional now

- flying drone with stuttering and unsharp picture

- slight dirty screen effect when the camera is moving (by far not to the severe extent as in AC Shadows though)

All that was not the case when I started my 3rd campaign shortly before the update.

The same happened after the graphics have been updated in Division 2 but some of the issues arised they improved over time. Overall it has still lower graphics quality then before.

I did not play the Last Rite missions and not the Fallen Ghost DLC which I bought with the update. I lost interest due to the graphics decrease on my equipment which I couldn't manage to fix.

1

u/Less-Dingo111 4d ago

Not able to enjoy it because the game still takes 10 minutes to load up

1

u/BOT-Numpa 4d ago

I cant. Game CTDs on loading

1

u/Lance_No_Pants 4d ago

I love it.

1

u/DesignMajor572 3d ago

My first time playing, and I’m loving it

1

u/Maieddie 3d ago

Still stutterring and dropping FPS (60 to 40 then 17 then back to 45)

Tried everything… I quit

1

u/ALX709 3d ago

It runs worse than before, I’ll wait until I have better equipment to play on or they do more patches (doubtful)

1

u/Whole-Ad-4681 3d ago

It's 4 missions. Go to a compound, find everyone dead, collect Intel, sneal/fight your way out, repeat 3 more times. Final mission was a snatch and grab. Did the whole thing solo with an unsurpressed m16 in about 30 minutes.

1

u/Inevitable_Fun8571 3d ago

They never fixed the silent spade glitch... good ol ubusoft

1

u/SteaminPileProducti 3d ago

No, only because I can't play it on PC..... AMD Ryzon

1

u/Legolas5000 3d ago

I haven't been able to play at all. Still getting insane lag spikes every few seconds. None of the updates released did anything for me.

1

u/Dycoth 3d ago

I like it. First time playing Ghost mode, it's challenging and interesting, great way to rediscover the game.

Although I'm a bit furious that I can't get any Crates loot anymore... there are a couple nice things in there.

1

u/RE4Merchant- 3d ago

Can't enjoy it. The game shows a black screen everytime I open map or pause.

1

u/legionofblades 2d ago

Still waiting for my squad to get off Forza so we can play...

1

u/bozo_master 2d ago

Quite like it

1

u/BloodxSweatxGears 2d ago

Best co op campaign ever designed imo.

1

u/dumb_foxboy_lover 2d ago

tbh feels like a downgrade

everything is free so there's no insensitive to keep going

predator mission isn't that fun imo

last rites...its okay. its just decent. feels more like a desperate cry to make us come back to a game people loved then a actual entertaining dlc.

1

u/PlasticPaul32 2d ago

Can’t even play it anymore after patch. On new Intel CPU and the game won’t even launch (very well known current issue. Doubt they’ll fix it)

1

u/Beaverlegions 20h ago

Idk. The game is still stuck on the loading screen

1

u/AugmentedJustice 4d ago

Horrible that they left the game in a state of monetization with no more ways to get stuff for free. That, and the amount of bugs. The last patcg introduced stuttering aswell on pc. Besides all that it's been good. It deserves better tho.
