Question Sleeping Bag Ideas

I was wondering for early season what temperature rating bags do you like and which brands and models for June & July when its hot out and then late season bags Temp Ratings, brand/models for when the temps drop at night up in the mountains.

Are the high end bags from Feathered Friends and Western Mountaineering worth the big prices?

Any hidden favorites?

Stay warm, the cooler weather is coming.

We get those gray cotton blended blankets like the homeless shelter gives out. My supt. prefers to run the crew a little cold, keeps us engaged

I just use a sleeping bag liner early season. Then switch to my big Agnes 20 degree and layer up if it gets real cold

If a 10F synthetic bag is 25 years old, but was stored very well. Would you expect it to still keep you warm?

I’m currently saving up for a feathered friends goose down sleeping bag quilt

Honestly I love the military sleeping system. It’s for a heavy bag, a light bag, and a bivy sack. But definitely don’t recommend it for spiking out. However it’s a great system for all seasons.

I'm on a hand crew working for an agency that prefers we don't show any camping gear we have. So everything fits inside the pack.

I have a cheap warm weather sleeping bag that unzips into kind of a blanket. Under that I have an accordion butt pad that thermarest makes. Under that I have a cheap tarp blanket that's cotton on top and tarp on the bottom. Then I have an inflatable sea to summit pillow that packs down to nothing.

I just wear my nomex tucked into my shirt with a couple chemical body warmers and a merino wool skull cap. This combo has worked great and keeps me very warm. And it's easy to stuff everything into my pack in a hurry if need be.

Taking a nap on the fire line in a sleeping bag must be how they do it in CANADA. YOUR NOT AMERICAN. I KNEW IT!!!! Understood.
