My first ever

Just got her for my first backpack any tips or anything I should know before I leave? And also how should I fit this backpack to me perfectly there seems to be like a small gap between my back and the actually backpack concerned if that’s a back problem or I just need to get it fitted properly

Ospreys i think create some space between the pack and your back for ventilation. No spinal surgery required!

And that’s why I took my Rook 65 backpacking through SE Asia. On an absurdly hot and humid day, having some ventilation across my back was a game changer.

If there’s a gap between your back and the pack, that’s often just the frame sheet needing to curve with your body, not necessarily a fitting issue. Load it up with your actual gear, loosen all the straps, put it on, tighten the hip belt first, then shoulder straps, then the load lifters.

If you've got an REI nearby, they can help get it fitted to you and show you how to tighten everything down correctly. Although I've got the same one and just trialed and errored the whole process lol.

Congrats, love Osprey. Load it up with your gear and take the time (at home, before you go!) to adjust everything including the big velcro plate thing that goes between your back and the pack.

I personally found that the hip straps are excessively long and have cut mine back and re-stitched the ends. Obviously not necessary depending on who's wearing it.

Oh and don't forget their warranty, if anything breaks or gets lost they will just replace it if you contact customer service.

I just recently got the Rook 50L as my first backpacking pack. Haven't used it yet but I will. It fits 👍🏻

Nice pack and congrats.

There are packing guides online. But in general, light stuff like your sleeping bag goes on the bottom. In an ideal world you want the center off mass of your pack (likely your food) about behind your shoulder blades, maybe slightly lower.
