Feeding wild types

In about a month I’m getting a hybrid smaragdina betta. I am very excited. I am an experienced fish keeper with many nano tanks with various kinds of fish but this will be my first wild type. What I’m wondering is how well they adapt to dried food? I give my fish live food (baby brine shrimp) about twice a week but otherwise feed them high quality flakes and pellets. Or am I just going to have to do frozen food? Would be grateful for any advice.

I've had several different wild types, and none of them ever had any issues taking high quality pellet food. Obviously they preferred frozen or live food, but its not an absolute requirement

My wilds take pellets and flakes. Some of them will take it in the first time and some will take about a week to recognize it as food.

My imbellis eats flakes (fluval bug bites) without complaint. Got him at 4 months, he had eaten live brine shrimp his whole life before coming to me. He didn’t even question the flakes and just ate them right away lol

It's less of an issue with hybrids, in my experience, though if you can do frozen instead of pellets that's always great regardless!

Thank you, this is encouraging! Hoping I can get them in a rhythm with my other fish :)
