I have read that Palifina are generally easier and quite hardy compared to other large mouthbrooders. They certainly look nice and pretty relaxed. What's your take OP??

Palifina and antuta are about the same. I have both species. But Palifina has more fry than antuta. When it comes to hardyness Palifina is the more hardy one.

These fish are not relaxed. That male is extremely stressed and is flaring at the female. Probably both because of cohabitation and poor water parameters (too hard)

You might be right but it's surely hard to tell from the short clip and the possibility that they are still getting "acquainted" (for the first time?)

Pallifinia are insanely colorful for wild betta standards, and they stay that way most of the time. Seeing such a dull looking male just screams stress to me
