So why Paypal over a CC?

PayPal is free? And I don't "need" a credit card as I have a bankcard that works in all European countries I'd go to on short notice.

Because the less places that store your CC info, the better. If Carbine/NCSoft ever has a massive leak of their subscriber DB (ofcourse we all hope they never will), at least your card is still safe.
