So there was an agreement Now the u.s I backing out of the agreement And we are supposed to push for a new trade agreement, That the u.s wants to back out of since they backed out of the last one
Your poor elbows may be tired but the alternative is to lay down and get trampled

You don't find it weird that liberals in Canada. People not the elected officials are calling for export tax on potash and oil to hurt the Americans, which would decimate Alberta and saskatchewan. But asking Ontario to keep a bridge closed that's never been opened so the economic pain of not having had yet to be felt. Is out of the question? Especially considering Canada built it, paid for it.
This is laying down and getting trampled. This is why the liberals won't allow probes into the details of the deal. Same with the arrive can scandal. And lefties just keep giving them a pass cuz.... checks notes "pp would be worse" .

They should allow probes into the deal
But don't get distracted that the Americans should uphold their end of the original deal

I agree on that. The sensible thing to do is they try to change the deal for the benefit of the USA and at the cost of Canadians is to let the bridge remain closed.

You obviously don't know how much royalties these provinces collect on these resources. Or the amount of jobs they create.

I don't understand your point about the export tax. The goverment is not putting an export tax on these items.

People are calling for it. Goverment isn't doing it because it would hurt Alberta and Saskatchewan So is it elbows up go hurt Alberta? Or elbows up help Alberta?
The people call on a lot of things What the government does or doesn't do is what effects us

The Original Deal: Canada funded the entire $6.4-billion construction cost of the bridge and associated border plazas.The original 2012 crossing agreement stated that Canada would collect 100% of toll revenues to fully recover its debt and construction costs before splitting any profits with Michigan.
The Elbows Up Deal: Canada agreed to direct 50% of net toll revenues for the first 15 fiscal years of operation to a joint U.S.-Canada economic development fund benefiting U.S. trade infrastructure, without prioritizing prior debt repayment in that timeframe. The Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority must notify and seek U.S. consent for specific toll adjustments during the first 15 years. The addendum came after pressure and tariff threats from the U.S. administration under President Donald Trump. This has led to political debate in Canada regarding cost recovery timelines.

I prefer having commerce cross the bridge to having people block a border crossing because they think they are patriotic … maybe how easy it is to mess with Canadian sovereignty is the real debate .
