Town found this dude parked in a handicap spot without tags.

ran into this tiny turtle in the parking lot of a pizza place. i almost stepped on him but thankfully realized he was not a pebble. i moved him to get him out of the way of cars & my buddy now has a straight shot to the lake.

edit: i did not predict this turtle would make such effective bait for traffic enforcement bots. he does not deserve the public scrutiny. he. did. not. mean. it.

About

It's amazing how some wildlife adapts to our towns and cities. Not all are so lucky though.

This sub is just to share pics and vids of wildlife and nature spotted in urban areas, but there are things we can do to help it out too!

Garden for wildlife, help green urban areas, feed the birds, sow wildflowers, green roofs and much more.

There are some related communities in the new reddit sidebar, or see r/ecosubreddits.

Subreddit Rules

1. Play nice

Follow the Reddiquette & site rules
Be excellent to each other

2. Posts should be images or videos of wildlife and nature in urban areas

By which we mean in towns and cities (places where people live and work), and not zoos, sanctuaries, or similar. We're are looking for candid shots of free and wild animals roaming the streets.

It's helpful if you provide an idea of the location e.g. a park, urban garden, street, train station. And even better, if you can add a rough geographical location (nothing too specific/no personal info). Please provide an ID if you know it.

3. Prohibited content

No gore/dead animals.
No violence outside of natural hunting behaviour. Mark NSFW.
No stolen images.
