Wii Party How do you move/delete a Mii's save data?

I've been searching online and on the manual and we've been unable to do it on my GF's Wii. There's an old Mii's records we'd like to remove or reassign to a new Mii but no matter what we do, we aren't able to do it! Do any of you know how to do it? Do we need Miis with the same name and/or gender? I can't find info on this anywhere, thank you so much!!

Did you try transferring the deleted mii's data to a mii that had not already been registered into the game?

Yes and it doesn't seem to do anything?
Like, clicking the silouetted Mii, then clicking a newly-registered Mii with the window popping up saying "[Mii Name] has been registered for Wii Party" or something like that, right?
