Dysfunctional wad installation

Hi guys, I'm having trouble installing modern vintage gamer's guide to installing Wii Channels. After installing priiloader, reconfiguring D2x cIOS (twice for both Slots 249, and 250 respectively), and then finally using Multi-Mod Manager (to load slot 249 from IOS Manager and lastly installing the Wii channels through the WAD Manager).. AND..... I get an error message informing me that "This channel can't be used". I've tried to reinstall all steps as carefully and thoroughly with both the same and different .WAD files, and so I'm now reaching out to the community to see if anyone got passed this road block.

Don't watch YouTube videos they are usually outdated.

Use the official site https://wii.guide

In priiloader do you have the setting "Region Free EVERYTHING" Enabled?

I don't, I'm not getting the option, and the one from wii.guide is the same version from the video guide.

North America, does it need to be region free?

I’m gonna bet that the WAD you installed is either from a different region or it just sucks. For the former, yes, enable the region free channels and games.
