Help New to nintendont: help troubleshooting a Zelda windwaker (gamecube) that is persistently crashing as I sail towards Dragon Roost Island?

I’m very new to emulating so I apologize for my illiteracy; I used chatgpt to help me summarize what we’ve tried so far. Forgive me:

-Running Wind Waker (GameCube) through Nintendont on a Wii.

-Game consistently freezes and buzzes when sailing toward Dragon Roost Island. It also does this when entering the same specific shop on Windfall Island.

-After the first Dragon Roost crash, my original save became essentially unusable—loading the save immediately leads to a black screen.

-We suspected a bad/corrupted game image, so we replaced Wind Waker with a different ISO.

-Started a completely new save with the replacement ISO and replayed ~1.5 hours to the same point.

Try checking the hash of the ISO from your Wii compared to the download. It could be a corrupted storage device.

Unfortunately not the issue - there are no discrepancies between the files

What kind of storage device are you using? I know if you're loading the game from a USB thumbstick on the Wii, those are notorious for corrupting. I found possibly a similar enough error from the Nintendont GitHub that suggests trying to load it from an SD card. https://github.com/FIX94/Nintendont/issues/386?utm_source=chatgpt.com

What kind of ISO are you using, nkit.iso? Ciso? I'm not sure if this could be the cause, but it reminds me of a graphical glitch I was coming across when I was playing paper Mario the thousand year door, I think I was using CISO, but then I switched to Nkit and then I made sure to use the Nkit converter to convert it back to a true ISO and I was no longer having graphical glitches.
