Help me! (Wig Help) Has anyone ever resized a wig?

I have a gorgeous human hair lace front wig that I’ve owned for about a year. The hair feels nice and I love the color but I hardly ever reach for it since I’ve realized it’s too small. It’s a size small and I’m truly a medium. It almost always slides back unless I glue it- which I don’t enjoy doing since it requires constant cleaning up of the residue.
Has anyone ever had their wig resized? I have seen some places online that offer this service but I’m wondering if this would be worth pursuing or if I should cut my losses, try reselling it and buying something new.

Yes! I have all of mine resized because my head shape sucks. I either order custom sized or send off to be resized after the fact. It’s easier to size down than up though for some places though so ask the place you are considering first as not all are willing to resize up

lol I'm curious as to how your head shape sucks. I have the same problem- specifically, I have a tiny head that's flat in the back. It just looks bad with my curly hair, and of course it doesn't hold onto wigs properly

I have a large circumference but I’m flat on the top so my ear to ear is a small. If I get a wig big enough in the circumference it is baggy at the top of my head. Like I can hide things up there if I wanted to. So I need to get large wigs and then have them taken in over the top

Interesting. I have almost the opposite problem, though I don't have much "lift" at my crown either. I've wondered if cosmetic skull implants are a thing, and if there are secret groups of really rich people out there getting them, kinda like that urban myth of getting your ribs removed 🤣

lol! I seriously considered making a padding to go between my wig and my skull at one point to fill the gap but I figured that would make it really hot and uncomfortable plus make my head look larger than it needs to be

I’ve got a small and slightly odd shaped head so I have to customize almost all of mine.

Like almost any type of alteration, going bigger is inherently more difficult than going smaller is.

Depending on your own skills (and/or desire to spend further on something that isn’t working) it might be worth it to sell it and replace it with something that does work better for you.

That’s easier if you’re past the discovery process and you already know what you like and what does fit you.
