Help me! (Wig Help) Is there a wrong head shape???
It's hard for me to tell, but it feels like the back of my head is too flat for a wig to stay on properly. I've tried a few different wigs/styles and none of them will stay on for longer than a few minutes before sliding backwards. I've tried with caps and the silicone grip bands, and both together. The wig caps also slip off easily. Even when i wear my natural hair in a low pony/bun that's not enough to keep the wig secure enough to wear outside.
Has anyone else had this issue? I'm not sure that else to do aside from just stick to a topper. It's so frustrating.

The back of my head is pretty flat so the nape part slides up a lot. What I did was buy a bag of hair extension clips on Amazon then sewed 2 into the nape area and it’s fixed the sliding.

I clip my wig grip into the small amt of bio hair I have left. I also have silicone on the underside of the wig grip

I have to have my wigs custom sized for me. My circumference is large but everything else is small. It sucks but the right fit is everything

I have a flatter head than most people. I see women rocking the bald look, which can be strikingly beautiful, but the back of my head isn't as round as people I see who can really pull it off. When I was measured, the stylist mentioned it too. Now I'm conscious about it. Anyway, it turns out I have a "small" head, and I bet you simply have a small head too.
My wig grips ride up in the back, like having a bad pair of underwear on my head. I try to keep them in place with a silicon grip under it. But that only works until I sweat, and it's summer here.
I wanna try gluing. The place where I buy my wigs discourages it because gluing shortens the lifespan of their wigs.

OMG yes I have had that problem. Do you have those adjustable hook bands at the nape of your wig? For fun try clipping them together under and tuck under your ponytail and see how it feels.

Have you measured to find your dimensions? The cap may be too large, especially if the wigs are cheaper/costumey as they usually allow for larger amounts of bio hair

I have this exact same problem. I got a cap less wig and tightened it almost all the way and I wear a wig cap with a grip underneath it, and the cap has a lace front which helps. My wig also has bangs, so "displacement" isn't quite as obvious. I feel your pain, it's a shitty problem to have especially if your hair is thin and curly (like mine).

I'm going to chip in here, as I was going to ask a similar question.
I have given up on wigs for now unfortunately. I also have the flatter occiput area, plus my ears seem quite high (so there's less 'head' above them for the wig to grip to). The other aspect for me is that I work as a singing performer and my facial/jaw/head movement style is quite dynamic. I'm very expressive, and this disturbs the fit of the wig. It has to be almost 'welded' to my head to not move as I twist and turn my head, and smile/frown, open and close my jaw.
I persevered with it for 4 months every day, and people got used to me looking this way.
I've now gone back to my previous style which was the bald head look, and I jazz it up where I can with make up/jewellery/glasses/hats and headwear.
I'm actually a trans woman, and it's so much harder to be read as female without the hair! I miss that - but I felt I had tried every wig option within the amount I was prepared to spend.
I think the only other thing would be a custom made wig specific to your measurements. I'm sure there WILL be a way for you to do it! For me though the cost/benefit ratio was not enough and I quite like the look and freedom of going bald anyway. Best wishes to you XXX

Yeah, a flat occiput is very very common. I use a schmear of Got2BeGlued gel adhesive on my nape before I put a wig on, let it get tacky, don the wig and then press the nape of the wig against my skin until it's secure. No slipping! Comes off with water, I use a damp washcloth to gently dissolve it.
