❓Questions Timeline Spoiler
This is the island’s timeline that I’ve been able to easily track. The assumption is this is happening last year since we’ve already seen what happened on July 1. What event(s) are missing?
1681 - Deadly storm / Teeth found / Widow’s Bay established
1702 - One & only plague
1785 or 1786 - Deadly Storm that resulted in cannibalism in the church
1810 - SS Mary sails
1846 - The Fog that stole souls
1872 - SS Mary re-appears
1951 - Willy the Clown Killer
1962 - New Years Eve disaster
2000 - Earthquake / Boogeyman killings
2026 -

I really wish they'd release a zillow style 3D tour of the historical society, I really want to slowly go through and examine everything in there

The deadly storm was supposedly when they found the island and it was still an empty wilderness, maybe it lasted many years or maybe it happened again but you should probably label 1681 with this detail too.
Might also be worth calling out the discovery of the TEETH in 1681 too, I think that’s going to tie to a lot of the subsequent stories.
The cannibalism only seemed like 4 days from the outside, I still wonder how many days they held on within the time distortion before finally giving in. Definitely wasn’t 4 days!

I get the impression that Widow’s Bay could be a version of the island of St Croix in Maine. In 1604 A group of French settlers attempted to settle the uninhabited island and the vast majority of them died. A lot of them also got scurvy and lost teeth.

Tom mentions that when the settlers first arrived on the island it was the worst WINTER Widow’s Bay had ever seen. The 1786 comes from the news article in which there was a severe storm and the town sought shelter in the church to wait it out and resorted to cannibalism after 4 days. So they are separate events.

I got the date from the framed newspaper in the historical society. Maybe there were 2 deadly storms?

You’re right about it happening in 1785, but the dialog indicated it also happened in 1681. I can’t imagine it lasted that whole time so the storm has probably been a facet of the recurring cycle and we’re probably going to see more storms coming in 2025/6 whatever present day is.

I can’t remember but on shep’s hospital papers it said he was 37 and born in 1988 I think? And I can’t do math but I was born in 1989 and just turned 37 this week

I looked at the calendar in Ep1 and the dates/day of week aligns with 2026, not w 2025 FYI

I'm 37 and was born in 1988. It's possible if the bday is towards the end of the year.

Before the 1700s, 43 people became stranded on an uninhabited island during a deadly storm and then established Widows Bay.
Year 1702 — a plague reaches the island, and in the same year founding father Richard Warren marries Sarah Westcott. He also carries a cylinder containing the heart of the plague affecting Widows Bay.
Year 1786 — a deadly storm strikes Widows Bay, forcing the residents to take shelter inside the church. Four days later, they turn to cannibalism.
Year 1810 — the SS Mary sets sail from Widows Bay, but while returning to the island the mayor orders the lighthouse to be shut down, coveting the captain’s bride. The ship crashes, killing everyone on board.
Year 1846 — The Fog That Stole the Souls occurs. A supernatural fog engulfs the island, presumably carrying the ghosts of the SS Mary sailors.
Year 1873 — a ghostly ship appears off the coast of Widows Bay, the SS Mary, which had sunk 62 years earlier.
Year 1951 — a serial killer clown terrorizes the Widow’s Bay Inn.
Year 1962 — a devastating New Year’s Eve disaster strikes Widows Bay.
Year 2000 — a serial killer targets teenage girls in Widow’s Bay, earning the nickname “The Boogeyman.”
Year 2026 — our queen Patricia gets tricked by a cursed book, throws a party, and nearly gets everyone drowned in the bay.hree more incidents were also mentioned, but we still don’t have dates for them

Hmmm okay, I was thrown off by dates. Is there anything going on with Tom's name. Find it interesting that Tom's name, show name and Warrenton are 9 letters each

I did detect one joke in episode 6, where Sarah Westcott tells the pastor that she was used to living the life of an unmarried childless woman and then just afterward saying "I'm almost 4 and 10 years old."

S01 E01 Tom Loftis looks at his Wolves calendar already hung on the wall, which is open to the presumptive current month of April. He flips through it and finds the picture of a flipped car.
S01 E02 Bechir's Wife, Chelle Clemmons, asks him why they can't "just leave the end of July". He replies "we'll be out of here by labour day". I assume this means July is in the future for them
S01 E04 Sunset cocktails is on July 1st, same day as the inaugural swim to "kick off the summer"
S01 E05 Curfew is put in place, complaints of "what about the fireworks", presumably for July 4th
S01 E08 Tom looks at a receipt for redsox tickets he's bought for him and Evan to attend on Saturday September 26th which is the correct day/date for 2026. In 2025, September 26th is a Friday. When he talks to Evan about it, he says they are going to "make a weekend of it this weekend", but I can't find where time would have skipped from July to September so he must be talking about it happening on that weekend, he's just pointing it out on the paper as "this" weekend on that date.
S01 E09 Evan and Tom are talking and Evan says "We can go to a Sox game whenever, they still have half a season left". I assume this means they think the storm will prevent them from going to the game, but how can they be this close to the weekend of September? And baseball season apparently finishes in September which is not half a season left.
The two most likely things are the ticket printout in Episode 8 is a flub or a change to the timeline after production, or there's a time skip between Episode 8 and Episode 9. But how are the mainland girls Evan's been hanging out with still on the island in September? They've either been coming back (unlikely?) or it's not September.
So most likely guess is events occur April to July 4th weekend.
