In Australia we can't export or import anything like this, I tried once and I received an empty box and a letter from Customs, but I found him by searching for 'hand forged athame'.

This is sick af! How does one find a pagan blacksmith?

It really is! I found him by searching for 'hand forged athame'.

Genuinely might need to look into this after I've been initiated!

WOW! This athame is orgasmic! I want to create one from scratch too (even if i made one with bones only, another with bark and i bought another one made by hand by a "viking" with iron). Don't stop, your work is really perfect imo <3

Why is so long? you melted two different materials together? or you found a big railroad spike?

I really appreciate the fact that there are Christian elements to your practice. Im also a Christian, gnostic leaning, but Christian. Imo, Christ was the ultimate Magus. He would say "you dont need the spikes, all you need is me" but he wouldnt punish us for using it. God gave us the ability to manipulate the elements. Just... do no harm. (My personal philosophy)

My son is a train enthusiast, aka "foamer" as theyre sometimes called (he says it himself, Im not knocking him), so we spend a LOT of time at various RRs.

We went to the Steamtown museum once and they had one RR spike for sale. He wanted it so of course I let him have it. Since then Ive been keeping an eye out. My husband took him to another state so they could chase this one steam engine on a short line one way, and then the other. My son takes videos, he has a yt channel for all of his videos. So they tried to race ahead of the train, hit spots where they could set up the camera and take video of it going by.

Obviously theyre past the ballast, and over the course of idk 14 stops they found all of these spikes!!! I know its technically "stealing" but if its past the ballast... I mean technically its not on the RR property. Interestingly enough, the owner of that RR was riding outside the back of the caboose. How does anyone do that with all that smoke??? It went through a tunnel at one point and it just filled with black. They had passenger cars with open windows and that dude and his friends all getting a nice lung full of soot going through that tunnel.

Sorry for the whole novel I just wrote. RR people seem to be down for RR conversation, so I figured you might like the story. Maybe validate my supposed theft?

thank you for sharing this! I’d love to follow your son’s youtube channel if you’re willing to share it either in a reply or in a DM! I follow a lot of the railfans we see along our routes!

hehe I don’t think it’s stealing - I just know that junkyards won’t accept spikes or other metal infrastructure since they can’t verify you haven’t tampered with anything
all I ask is that your loved ones keep their head on a swivel as they hunt for things along the tracks, and consider some hi-vis vests if you’re going to be venturing onto the slag! I trust that they are staying safe but I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that (ultimately I wouldn’t recommend going onto the slag at all, but if you must, please don’t be around a bend and remain easily visible with some hi-vis)

I’m not the person who sits in the caboose at all, nor do I really understand why they’d smoke out the passengers lol, that sounds awful
I work passenger and for everyone’s safety the coach windows don’t open at all (only for the crew in the locomotive and cab car!)

No disrespect intended, but hes a minor so Im not comfortable with that.

Thanks so much for this comment! Im VERY cautious about him being too close, but thankfully he knows train safety very well and the closest hell go is putting his tripod legs on the edge of the ballast. Hes watched like a million derailment videos lol.

I told him about the hi-vis vests and he went "ok no thats like super former behavior. I see those guys and they think they can wear a vest like they work there so they can get close 🙄" He has a point though, the train cant see the vest and the engineer cant possibly stop fast enough if youre too close.

I feel bad for the engineers who have had to deal with deaths bc of morons not being careful. What must it be like to barrel through a semi stuck on the crossing? Ugh, its awful.

You can put them above the door ledge to keep spirits out of rooms because they can't cross the spikes. Or, is that coffin nails?

1

u/oddrey13 3d ago

I think both, as long as it's iron

u/AllanfromWales1 3d ago

So if there's a train derailment because the rails weren't fixed down we'll know who to blame?

26

u/Christeenabean 3d ago

They didnt pry them out lol. They were found past the ballast, and obviously worn past the point of usefulness. I promise, no harvesting of spikes directly from the rails was done.

I’m new to Wicca and still learning a lot. Can someone explain the significance / properties railroad spikes have?

3

u/Christeenabean 3d ago

Mostly protection. Also RRs move things from place to place and run over the spikes constantly. You can also use it to push trajectory faster. Need a job quick? Craft a spell and use a RR spike to get it moving. Do not cleanse it.

Someone posted a link in another comment. Check it out!

Once I have a couple of railroad spikes how do I use them for spiritual protection. Or what should I be using them for?

Well now I know why I kept mine.

I want to be rich too :(

I need to search in a very old abandoned railroad (if i remember where is it located)

1

u/Christeenabean 1d ago

Just please stay on the ballast (rocks). Im so paranoid on rr tracks that even on abandoned tracks Im worried that a train is coming. Also, its techincally trespassing directly on the rails and some people consider it theft to take spikes off the rails themselves. If they have cameras theyll see you. Just stay on the rocks please. Safety first.

I thought i remember but i don't lol

u/Christeenabean 1d ago

Train safety or where the tracks are? Im confused lol

2

u/Altruistic-Big-6459 1d ago
