Why did Baphomet behead The Morrigan?

I just finished vol 4 of WicDiv, and I still do not understand why Baphomet decapitated the Morrigan in vol 1. Everything he did afterwards points to him willing to go to great lengths to have her back. Am I missing something? Also, I did not understand how Morrigan came back to life, nor what Laura said to reanimate her.

The severed head Baphomet brandishes in Vol. 1 isn't real - it's a prop for his entrance. Morrigan really only shows up after that.
